U need to inspect all ur hoses and connection, looking for sign of coolant mark else Need to do pressure test to check where is the leakage come from

Even if one of the hoses is leaking, it is recommended to replace all the hoses as sooner or later, the other remaining hoses will leak as well.

does anyone know which hose is the most common to leak on n46 engine?

If you need to top up every two days, there is a leak somewhere.

A compress test will be able to do it.

Another way is to fill the reservoir to the top with water. Run the engine for 5 to 10 minutes.
Shut down engine and check for water droplets at the bottom of the car and trace up to find the source of the leak.

BTW, look for white stain.

thanks all for the advice.

Herbert, do u know how much it costs to replace the main water hose? bomin said that can costs to approx. rm1k++ to replace the hoses as it comes
in a set rather than individual, is that true?

From my experience, it starts with one and ends with the last piece of water tube u can find. Then after using it for another 100k km, the whole issue will start again.

If finances permits, do change all and 1k plus is not all that expensive (decent price). For all the tubes that is.

No one said owning a UDM is a cheap affair!

E90 320i.. My first leak was the cap behind the engine. 2nd leak was a crack on the radiator top hose connector, 3rd leak was water pump.

no matter how far or near I travel, every 2 days I need to top up the same amount of water, I guess cant be radiator leaking,
water could be seeping out from one of the hoses but don't know which one.

as I know there is one hose that is replaceable buy purchasing 1 pc, but if other hoses comes in a set

Trouble shooting and to find which hose and/or area is leaking is a difficult task. The only solution is to do a compression test.

2. water pump rm420
3. thermosthat rm250
4. hose connector rm65

15. workmanship for the above rm405

total above + 6% GST = RM3169.

Looks reasonable to me. The only problem is, like all BMW, there is a long list of things that needs to be done.

Besides, you also did your brake pads as well so shouldn't really complain too much about it.

many ppl said that the price is on the high side compared if I buy the items myself, I could have save at least 10-20% lesser.
but no choice as I don't know what parts to buy & don't know whether is the part necessary to change or not.

only my rear brake pads are changed. my front no budget as im using 6pot BMW performance calipers & it costs a bomb to replace :stupid:

Bomin part prices are reasonable. If you go MS Motor at Sg Besi, theirs are inflated by 30 to 40% blatantly.

They also don't like it if you buy parts else where and send it to them for their labour. But so far, MS Motor solves all my problems and some. They are one of the best albeit also one of the expensive ones.

I agree with you that bomin in terms of workmanship, so far they are the best, but price for parts is controlled by his other brother, therefore unable to negotiate the price,
if workmanship then yes, slight nego will be able to.

you service everything no wonder its expensive, should replace the leaky one only would save alot of cost

when It comes to engine cooling system, id rather replace all rubber hoses although will hurt my wallet rather than overheat & stranded by the roadside.
just wondering how is bomin auto's price vs buying myself from BA
