HI guysSeriously considering the E90 320 but would like to hear from other owners out there is the power sufficent? I'm currently dricing the Accord 2.0 and I can also get 150hp which I feel is already not enough.I know if I want more oomph I should go for the 325 (which is too expensive) or get a Subaru WRX (indicentally it's cheaper) but nothing beats the look and feel of the UDMAny 320 owners out there? Can you share your experience with this car?

If you're a power junkie, then I'd say skip the 4cylinder 320i E90. The E90 is much more than off the line sprints, its a balanced and refined package. The E90's strength comes in at high-speed effortless cruising.

e90 320i is not powerful enough for u since you are already on an accord 2.0L.
go for e90 325i.... and you will not regret.

There is nothing in the world to compare to a BMW inline 6 in full stride! The quiet roar, the kick in the seat, the effortless climb to the red line, they're all there to make me floor the pedal again and again.

While the N52s I-6 engine offers much in driving enjoyment, the N46 2.0l I-4 engine is still not bad. Again, the E90 is about the whole package (i.e. handling, feel, high-speed stability) not just straight-line acceleration.

worth save up a lil' n get the e90 325i with 218 ponnies under the hood. with iDrive is even better since in very short future, Navi is the must-have thingy. no regret or thinking of upgrade, in many years to come.

I'm with powerbook and pkw88. If you get a BMW, it should be a 6-pot or nothing. The straight 6 is what defines Bimmers. Judging from what you said about power, a 320 would disappoint you the moment you open it up on the road.

I had a play-play share in a WRX sometime ago. Let me tell you that a WRX STi is unbeatable on twisty roads, even by the 911s and Ferraris in our group. It's not built for top-end cruising like supercars and Bimmers, but the AWD will beat anything around corners. Decide though if that's what you want in a car. It's imho damn ugly and it's a jarring ride as a daily transport. Do you really want a manual in our kind of city traffic? Me, I grew tired of throwing it around the B-roads after a while :)

if you can't afford the 325, do consider the GTI...i was told you can own one for under RM200K.

hi there bmwjunkie,

i'm having the same dilemma as you - I prefer to upgrade to a nice ride for daily use(instead of the usual Jap / local makes), but have a budget constraint.

initially my 1st choice was the E90 325i - as most of the sifus here pointed out, for BMW, it is the in-line 6 engine that shines !
however, even pre-registered ones are going for RM268K by AB, and threw me off track totally.

after some thought, my next target is the e46 325i - it is below 200K, and has >190hp. the smooth, continuous supply of power from the engine is just addictive, and I've a feeling I'll not regret getting this car as my daily ride.:D

You should wait for C&C/VAG Malaysia to get their act together first. No showrooms yet, but according to C&C SA I spoke with yesterday, should be opening sometime end of the year.

Wald cars come from Japan apparently and may not be fully tropicalised.

wald do not sell cars.. Wald in japan sell bodystyling with some mild exhaust mods.

I believe the wald name was used as a method of bringing in brand new cars that were already being imported by the official importers. there is no such thing as a Wald GTI. only in malaysia. correct me if i'm wrong anyone.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The committee has decided that the BMW Club Official TT will be Monthly TT starting Nov 2006.

Official TT would be held on every 2nd Friday of the month. So the next Official TT would be on 10 Nov. Stay tuned for more info.

You can organise your own gatherings if there is no official TT for that particular week, but we do hope that when there is an Official TT on that week your group will organise yourselves to attend the Club TT.
