e46 in June Hypertune....

Errr...... did anyone read the article/write up on the Supercharged e46 in the June issue of Hypertune?Was wondering if the owner is a BMW forum member..... Ride is darn sweet..... would be great to see it up close & personal Anyway, question:-If a car is supercharged, is it better to maintain the auto gearbox (although with some mods to compensate for the increased hp & strain on the gearbox) or to change it to a 6 Speed manual gearbox?

Browse thru the pages... didn't buy, wonder he bought or XX Impressive got the unit for him. Believe that workshop got the expertise to install the SC. Wanted to visit the workshop one of these day to check-out.

Mentioned before to the workshop just below CT showroom that let say I buy a unit and he install for me... the boss... bugger told me not to bring to him... he say he don't know-la :dunno: - cannot main-main one he say.

supercharger alone is estimated to be around RM29k, project done by RS Impressive, Turbo Lim..

Yeah....thats what the write-up said....

But was wondering on the gear issue.... auto or manual better?

murali's white beemer had been sold off long time ago...this sc black colour e46 is own by a malay fren of us...now the car has carbon bonet n csl trunk....just change to csl front bumper...plus he came to our shop to install the sprint booster(the wire by throttle sensor)...now the car is super quick...so beware..when u see this bmw on ur tail..haha.

he said he sold his e46 to a used car dealer...

but he said tht he will join us for tt whn he is free...most proly will come in his scooby or c class...

Try enquiring from adliz.

He has first-hand experience blow-ing with an SMG transmission.

the auto/steptronic gear box can survive around 300hp or a little more.
So even if you supercharge your BMW(318-330) you won't make much more than 300hp.

I have a 323Ci and it only makes 280hp with the supercharger.

So there is no worries at all from supercharging your car with the auto gearbox.

If however you have a 330 and you do a stage2 supercharger with headers then expect your auto gearbox to die.

But like most malaysians who drive 325 and below and don't go modding crazy by buying stage2 and headers you should be perfectly safe.

after refreshing my memory, i remember my fren (working at TNB port klang) said to me, pls look at latest hypertune magazine cos his friend's car publish on that mag.
