yowzerrr......had my nissan livina serviced at the authorised svc ctr yesterday (80k km) and was informed the front brake pads are worn.had a look at it and found got still life left (pad thickness same as the metal thickness and the pad wear indicator is not breached).i asked how much...RM 420 per set!i almost fainted.compared to the e39,OE pads cost rm140 and ori BMW ones at RM330! needless to say,I told them to refit and I will change it later myself.of crs it will void warranty but the warranty period is ending mid this year anyways.......sheesh..... oh BTW,the air filter is at RM84 as opposed to e39 at approx RM45:top:

an people say BMW veli high maintenance...

The great part is those people never own a BMW in their lifes.

Isnt it well known service centers will charge insane amounts for everything no?

My sisters Myvi (first model) was serviced at the "service center" since day 1, last year when I drove it I took it to my mechanic & we found no wear & tear items were replaced except for the engine oil. (pads,gb oil, plugs, etc all were never changed).

No wonder grand livina wanna cucuk me on hiway. Their brake is so damn expensive hahaha.
What a crap

I think if you service at any service centre it's gonna be expensive regardless whether it's nissan or bmw.

BMW is always high maintenance coz the car Banyak Masuk Workshop compared to the jap counterparts...

since this post is resurrected,I'd like to report that my livina brakes are STILL ok ie.still on the original pads with half the thickness of the metal backing plate remaining.it will be due very soon.the point i wanna make is this.the mech said the pads required changing last year in march.huh...yeah right!brake pad life are very much dependant on how we drive and the route we go thru daily.akin to the clutch plate.i have never replaced my previous e34 clutch plate in the 10 years i've owned it.and i've already bought my livina replacement pads....for rm110.....bendix brand

Bro,

i have a latio which use the same brake pad as what you mention. ya, their original brake pad is expensive but the quality is very different compare to bendix brand. my latio currently are running with bendix disc pad and the felling compare original vs bendix is very very different. original give you a better braking feeling. trust me.
