I bought RM1K 5 years ago, new one cost more than RM2K.

Yes exactly this one, with the Max button (not REST). Suspected faulty as it's not giving "heater valve" signal to regulate the temperature, ie brrrrrrrr all the time.

Used one from chop shop sold for RM800. One of our OM replaced it few months ago.

The same goes to mine. BRRRRR in freakin morning and early evening. Only been using speed 1 to 2 most of the time. Have to completely turn it off at night else balls all freeze.

Even increasing the temp to 32 Celsius, it doesnt blow any heat. I was told the same... could be due to the control module.

But mine has REST and not MAX. Has anyone replaced their REST to the one with MAX? Can function?

Some of the foreign E39 users found MAX in their 2001 models and some of them have REST in their 2002 models. Can't be sure though.

Yes, correct. MAX is for facelift models from year 2001 onwards. This panel is rather difficult to find and cost no less than RM 900+

Naidu getting a used one for me tomorrow 1pm and price is about 1.2k with swapping with my used A/C Control Panel unit.

Found many used units in ebay USA....dirt cheap but they only do USA shipping if anyone of you bros got any kaki in USA, maybe we can even do a GB sapu their E39 goodies!!

Just got back from Naidu's. Found out not A/C control panel rosak, neither are the "cooling & heating sensors", which were replaced anyway as they were ordered new. Next round would be a full day troubleshooting on the wiring side.

Parts used this round:
A/C Thermistors x 2 = RM230, with all the troubleshooting labor inclusive.

In Sunday's heavy rain, drove my car through water about 1/2 feet deep... Tuesday the gear display a bit slow to shown up... Wednesday cant engage R...
sent to WP Auto...
change the Level Switch... RM980

It is hard to think that driving thru the deep water could be so costly..anyway, where is the switch located? thanx for sharing

It "snows" literally all throughout the day....Haven't fixed yet. Naidu checked my heater valve control and found out that there were no supply of voltage to the connectors months back. But all the fuses related to the heater are still intact and not blown. He also suspects that has to do something with the wiring. Told me he needs a day to do checkup. Haven't found the time yet to visit him back.

I have exactly the same issue and recommendation. Anyway I think we should bring this discussion elsewhere and not OT too much

yup.. but I think partly due to the gasket is giving way too...

chop shop dont want to sell bcoz always come together with whole GB...
I called BA PJ, they said they never bought this part b4..
