Thats really cheap! We got a similar quote from bro Vixx but I thought it was not modded yet. So completely plug and play then?

The light is working, but apparently this is a m3 g.knob and it is smg. So for "p" and "n" will be light on only.

Yes it's for RHD, but not illuminated.

Bro Haywire is correct.. They close now due to hit by flood. And guess what, they renovate the store even bigger...
BMWOption is close to my office in Bangkok.. But the traffic to go there is crazy.. As far as I know, we can't reach there by MRT or any public transport, unless you take taxi or tut tut.. but they will charge you more.. Motor bike might helps.. but most of the bikers having problem with language barrier.

I will ask my Thai friend to give them a call for easier negotiation, and I will back onshore (Bangkok by 23rd-Feb). If BMWOption do have the stocks, I will update here, and we can do try the group buying... :top:

Trust me, It doesn't look right as the original illuminated DCT knob. But still, it is your choice if you prefer this one. Less-headache

Closer Look of SMG knob:

Apparently, it doesn't exactly comes with LED for gear selection (Complete P,N,D,R,M +/-) like DCT, and this is one of the reason why I go for DCT at the first place. You guys can review my retrofit progress here , and it's not easy to match the diodes calculation. I burnt my DCT board due to wrong rating of potentiometer.

But I'm optimistic that I could build the other electronics circuitry with LED to match the current drawn from gear faceplate, in easier way perhaps -if time permit me to do so.

Just check the price with BMWOption, and they said that the price is increased to 9900bath (effective last Dec), disregards group buying (same price) :saint:

And they do not have the retrofit too.. Sells as OEM..

I guess, it's Boy thou.. The quoted price is excluding the retrofit part, so put it aside for a moment and plan to continue with my burnt DCT knob instead..

I have the M DCT on my E39, it is illuminated whether you have your lights on or not. I bought it from BMWOption in Bangkok, two years ago. Just DIY and it is very easy, just slit open the original wires and hardwire it.

But does it illuminate according to the gear position, like R, + or -?

Or you wired it so that all the lights illuminate all the time? From what you described above this is what it sounds like.
