E36 M50b25 conversion journey

hey there after my estoril blue journey at lian heng ...now it almost time to retire my old faithfull M40B18 engine ..been using this M40B18 for the past 8 yrs and it's been such a great engine . Maintainance cost was infact much lower and the entire 8yrs i did not had any major overheating failure and so on ...during my initial days the odo was at 170K and now it's clocking at 263K whereby the total usage was mere 93K with an average of 11.6K clocked peryear ...the auto tranny was also given a proper care and schedular oil change and driving style too had pro-longed it's life span with yearly ATF changes for sure ..Engine too had it's vitamin added with an oil change every 45 days with/without using it ...i know it sounds crazy, but then hey it's my personal testimony here. Case of my engine is not being sold i will strip open it to view the inner components for my very own eye to see how the frequent oil change had contributed to it's components wear and tear ...so here is the picture of my faithful M40B18 engine whereby most of the component would be for sale ...etc alternator , aircond compressor , radiator , Auto tranny and so on ...in another week or 2 ..

what's going in ...? here is the picture and it could be an AUTO or most likely manual ....

so the journey begins and total number of days taken is estimated one month or so..Slow and steady ...

note : i'm not in a hurry to complete this project ...

every single update will be posted here and you're most welcome to comment and do advise me for items that i need to look into .....

Sony pay is not good ....had to pajak my gold chain lorrrr ...

i've got a getrag220 ...compatibility wise some say it's OK , but i'm not sure ...

need inputs for the getrag220 with the M50's here ...

any1 to share the know how ??

Its gonna be a great car...real beautiful colour and now great driving pleasure on the way...what about yr other set-up like suspension, brakes...etc?:top:

i've got the whole load that comes together with the half-cut ...brake wise i think i'm OK but a little more worried on the suspension set up as i like low set up cars ...

infact the front and rear suspensions ( abs and springs )too comes with it ...but how it's gonna look upon installation is another story ....

be careful how you mix and match your parts
getrag220 can have models for the 4pots right up to the 6 pots
there is also the factthat flywheel was made specifically for the engine, i.e. m40,m43.m44,m50 2.0/2.5, etc

if you simply mix and match you will get idiotic noises from the gb like what happen to our smart-A tumbleweed

remember ghee doesnt cure everything......p.s. i know what you put into your super 4pots engine.....
