Hi Bro,Not sure huv anyone of you used to discuss on this topic... mine is around 350km - almost 400km (mix city drive, traffic jams and highway usage) for a 75% tank consumption izit high ? Please advice...

Dunno... :D Just tested my bro's M52B28..full tank( Shell Vpower)!!, me oni whack on the straight...play..play with Cefero from Ipoh to KL...manage to hit 470km some more.. B)

DEFINITELY on the high side. Just the same case as mine. Assuming 75% of the fuel is about 49 litres and the distance traveled is 380km,then the FC would be around 7.75km/l. I dont think I am an aggressive driver but FC is also effected by other factors also.

Mileage with normal Octane 97 fuel should be slightly better compared to V-Power but I still pump V-Power everytime for better "kick". :D

MIne's definitely on the high side. I put in about RM75 for a full tank, I get about 420kms city driving revving it hard once in a while. But when my bro drives it, he gets about 500kms. But of course he stays at the deeper end of Subang. So more straight roads....longer distance.

I've achieved close to 700 kms from KL to S'pore and back. Crusing around the 120km/h mark usually gives you optimum mileage.

I get around 300miles on a full tank which I think is around 480kms city driving, On long distance can get around 450miles while maintaining 70mph.... and still I think.... its not so economical for a manual.... hehe.... maybe need to check my exhaust ;)

Nowadays, I get about 10.4km for every litre for highway driving. For town driving, I only get about 9km per litre.

My consumption have definitely gone up because I used to get about 11km/ltr about 1.5 years back. I sense something must have failed but have not been able to locate the problem. Could it due to some vacumn leak or failing O2 sensor? What else?
Guys, any method or tests to identify the root of the problem?

RM80++ for a full tank, travelled 3++ miles... And that's full throttle 70% of the time... ;)

wow..thats pretty good...i'm getting like 8.5 to 9km to a litre.. nothing more than that...i also suspect somethins amiss..but erm..dunno where to start..maybe the gurus here have a "checklist" for Fuel Consumption".?..hmm..or perhaps we should come up with one!!..this knowledge pool will benefit everyone i'm sure...:)..

Check my VIN numbers, found out my ride do not come with Catalyt Converter... do you sifus think this will be part of the consumption factor ? My bro's E39 (523i) consumption ratio is around 1.12 which is better then mine E36 318i at 1.25... wonder how to improve the fuel consumption as petrol is getting more expensive nowadays.

Question : installing extra products like cyclone, magnetic clip for fuel saver will it help to improve F/C significantly ??

Just a suggestion, can we have a std guide for model such as 318, 320, 325 and 328 as most of use are having. this can be be a reference for all the driver so they will know if they have high fuel consumption.
Can the factory data be a guide ?

my e46 2000 320i/6 got 400km for full tank, city driving morning and evening jam in kl. Is this high?

whoa...thats high... most of my friends' E46 are doing happily around 10-11km/ltr..compared to urs, less than 7...despite the jams and all..:)...

of course singapore jams are hardly anything compared to KL jams...still it should be that bad eh?..:).. as a comparison, most of the E36's i know are doing about 9km/ltr (mine being the worse at 8.5~9.0km/ltr MAX...)..getting about 510-530km on a full tank (60ltr)...

time to check it out??..:)

cheers!

mine simple rm80 =400km,,, how ah can anyone help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks. its about 20cents per km phew

ha ha ha .... now using Projet Ron 92 ---- full tank around 70 + and

clocks me about 550 km...

DIE HARD PROJET :D

full tank mix driving almost 500km...hope to find out long distance milage soon...using Project nowdays...gets me more milezzzz

My 318i (E36) is about 8 years old. With a full tank I can reached about 520km mix town and highway. I even reached 600 km from KL to Penang!!!

Try send your car for fuel injector cleansing , ultrasonic! I sent mine and it is indeed very much smoother, more consistant and lower fuel consumption up to 560km.

Check out this website www.autochild.com! No point changing this and that without knowing how to maintain your car in depth!

Good luck!

dont mind asking ah, im actually using 92 enertec now today for the first time . izit true that no harm for the engine ?

Been driving my car carefully for the past few days (light-footer). As of today evening, petrol tank left 50% load and mileage stand at around 245km... high fuel consumption ?? FYI my ride is standard stock with 16" 325i E46 rims. Will bigger rims put-in more weight into the car?

Plan to install cyclone into my ride during next service interval, any idea how much it cost ???
