Guys,I just came back from work, night shift maa, now still cannot sleep, suddenly thinking about this. When you see another e36, do you try and get as close as possible from behind to see if it's a 318/325/328 from the emblem before you start getting naughty or do you reserve your judgment until you see the other guy accelerate and smoke you.Which leads me to think some more. Is it "unethical", to upgrade your engine from an m40 and leave everything else stock standard for a 318 (emblem, rims, no m3 bodykit).while we're at it, please share any unwritten ethics, code of conduct between us UDM owners.Have a nice Friday all and drive responsibly (wink2)!p/s-if this scenario already been discussed please don't kill me. mod may delete this.

Dont think there's a code of conduct of this, nor should it be one. Each to his own. We even have a 518i E39 which is actually an M5.

Well bro, some of us have the tendency to 'understate' or even 'overstate' our car's performance. I'm also guilty of this. Cos I added an Alpina badge and emblem on my rear... Haha. Purely aesthetics reasons only la, not for shaving a few seconds of my 0-100km/hr... :4:

Anyways, there was one article I read in the UK before, about this E60 owner who actually owned an M5, but badged it as a 520d... DIESEL bro. Hahaha. That's epic. Imagine the looks on the faces of those boy racers when they get smoked by that 'diesel'...

I think normal la. Especially recent cars, especially German marques, Merc and Bimmers, boot badge says E250 for example, but engine is only 1.8CC but turbocharged. Those who are not aware but thought this is easy picking, so they main cucuk la.

I also kena tapau by Persona before mer on NKVE. No point giving chase cos it was drizzling anyways. Good luck and good riddance to those who love driving recklessly.

Just my 2 cents.

the emblem is just one thing to watch for ...but next time it would be better to watch the rear exhaust tail pipes ...if single outlet : 4 potter , if twin outlet : 6 potter ...

but there are some 4 potters thats using twin outlet too ...then you've have to see the lower side of the pipes that's connected after the backbox to confirm it ..usually if the car is lowered you may not be able to see the lower side or the pipes ..... or back to the rear badges again ...

seems like you're having a phobea on it and being naughty too .... well just observe how the car pulls away too will tell you what's underneath the hood ....

by the way you're running a 4 or 6 potter ??

Thanks for the clarification Ice.

This thread reminds me of the time I posted on the white E34 520i/525i pulling effortlessly away from me on the LDP half a year ago. :4:

I still think it doesn't have a Jap heart though...

If you're proud of your car, put any badge as you like (NOT V6!!)

Like me I put my badge both at the boot and the number plate area...

Emblem can change, but what if the old number plate denominates the cc? Tak usah la nak tukar tukar:)

Contrary to popular beliefs adding different badges or stickers does not make your car go faster or increase horses. :p he he
