Dear sifusCan anyone tell me/ share what are the spec for 1996 e34 525i. Double airbag?Walnut trim?Rear sunblind?thanks in advance

Anyone having a 1996 e34 525 to share some thoughts?

I am eyeing on one which has 2 owners but look bone stock ( Which I prefer)

i had both e34, 1996 and another 1991 last time.


the 525i has;

1. rear sunblind,
2. check control module (on board computer)
3. 15" standard rims
4. Self leveling headlights
5. big nose grill, bonnet
6. some had rear window sunblinds
7. 4 spoke steering, no buttons, with air bag, passenger none.
8. original cobra alarm with key
9. battery under the rear seat
10. no sun roof (local)
11. no folding mirrors, no auto tilt mirrors, but some came with the auto dimming type.
12. woodtrim interior, side coin box.
13. arm rests for both front seats
14. rear seat pocket
15. rear ac vents at the handbrake console
16. boot side box tray holder on the right side.

either than above, it was a basic car.

the imported version had all above, but extra:

1. steering column electric up/down
2. servotronic
3. sun roof
4. passenger air bag front
5. climate control ac
6. OBC in lieu of clock
7. front lights washer
8. side mirrors auto diming, heater
9. front screen heater at headlights rest

sorry for asking so many noobs question
I am currently overseas and will only be back in KL in another fortnight.

I ve driven the 520 only twice ( test drive)
One M20 and the other M50.
Decent pace and quite nice ride.
I do hope the extra grunt on the M50B25 will be much more of a relaxing motor.

Aint looking for performance orientated, Just want some comfy weekender that is in Stock Cond

The best will be the M50B25, value for money, cheap parts, abundnace chop shop parts.

sadly the M20 parts are getting rare, hence will be had to source and the head is a hardest part to look for.

Lots of shops, depends on the availability of parts..

Your model now should be around RM22K in the market.
