Hi folks, Just thought I would do a quite review comparision between my e60 525i sports and e30 320i. Thought some of you may be interested. I have had my e60 now coming up to a month. It is definitely a faster car. Of course more comfortable. Ride is great and not in anyway too harsh despite the sports set up and run flats. Handling is absolutely fantastic. There is of course too much technology for the sake of technology. But nothing too daunting as made to be by many - idrive is pretty straight forward. indicator stalk can be annoying. incar phone blue tooth is brilliant. Definitely a car I would buy again at the drop of a hat. After ignoring my e30 due to the new toy, I got back behind the wheel last weekend and to my surprise, no shock, as to how brilliant a drive the e30 is. I had taken for granted how nimble, agile and responsive the car is. Yes I may not be able to take the corner as hard or drive as fast but it was such a fun drive that it made me think twice about putting it away at the end of the weekend. Of course the 2 cars are a world apart with nearly 20 years of technology separating the two. The e60 is no doubt a great car but I feel detached as a driver while the e30 really gets you involved. Thus, a great car the e60 maybe, I am not sure if it is necessary the better car. Surprise surprise! Maybe my 3 year old son knew that all along without even having to drive it as he adores the e30 and actually prefers it to the new shinier e60. I am sure some of you will agree he has great taste!

dnhoh...
how true is yours words..

that's why i love my e30 most, than the other cars ....

dnhoh n pussy,

my exact views on my e30 n e46. nothing compares to a drive in an e30. long live the 80's icon!!!

Many still keep their e30.. especially if it is a cabrio or two doors CBU with 325 engine or best of all M3

e30

I actually had a e30 cabrio at one point too.

Beautiful looking car. Great for posing but drives like a can of soup. The scuttle shake was almost unbearable at speeds beyond 60 km on uneven surfaces and unfortunately I like to drive my cars with a little more go.

eh brader.... the only reason you're saying that is because your E46 can't even get close to my trusty SAGA.....:thefinger:
Oooh oh ya.. n your E30... hahahaha.. no comment... GET A LIFE BRO!!! ahahah....

.....but on a serious note... chikadeez will always have my highest respect for his passion...& of course patience on the legendary E30.....:top:

yes, the E30 has the direct feel which not many other BMWs has, with the exception of the M cars... Tweak the suspension and you'll have even more fun...

btw, anyone interested for an E30 get-together cum drive???? Maybe a sunday morning ulu yam breakfast drive or even a Ipoh horfun drive from KL... ;)

ps: are you a LaSallian???

I think the E30 is STILL one of the best looking BMWs around, and a pristine maintained E30 will be a real collector item in years to come. However, its hard to see pristine E30's these days on the road, as the cars have seen a lot of time, miles and abuse.

Also, things like metal fatigue, bushing wear and tear, dashboard cracking, interior wear and tear, loose joints in drive train etc make most current E30 different to drive from when it first rolled out of the showroom.

e30's do lack some creature comforts that modern bimmers have, but most owners would rather have these creature comforts when they pay over 200K for their rides.

Fab, start a new thread and see whats the respose, haven't gone for a long drive for awhile.

I dont own an E60 yet but its really true that E30 is more fun and involving to drive. My E36 is more comfortable but feels a bit sterile as compared to my E30.

e30 + e60 = e90

e30 + e60 = e90 - e60 = e30

so, answer is still the same!

The only way I am selling my e30 is to make way for a 993 turbo
