my fren done the conversion by using misubishi glass sunroof.have to cut the roof. cost around 1k

you mean replacing the original sunroof panel for a glass one?
The last time i browsed through an old E30 catalog, they have the glass version. i can't remember if it's a dead moonroof of a full sunroof...
but the shape is significantly different...so i don't think you can opt for the original one..if it's still available.
the glass factory may be able to cut one out for you...that'll be nice...

I almost changed mine many years ago....
BMW does in fact make a glass sunroof for the E30.
The price was RM1.5k (used) which is why I didn't do it at the time. But in hindsight, I should have, because
I can't seem to find one again.
It's a direct replacement for the metal sunroof. The BMW logo is sandblasted on the glass.
I am not sure if it comes with the sliding headliner as a set.
I am still on the lookout for one.

My E46 glass sunroof comes with the cloth slider.
I just hope to find one for my E30 with the complete set too..
I have a few potong shops on the lookout for me....
But not holding my breath la. If they find it oso, they will charge a bomb!

no glass sunroof were made for E30. If yes, it could be for e36 or e46. I have check with ETK, no such part number for any E30 models.

however, there are some sighting of moonroof for e30 in the states.

It could be specially made or special edition but it's not a standard accessory item for e30.

Something my father did to his MGB GT which might not be your cup of tea, was to cut the roof off and retrofit a Toyota (not sure which model) electric moonroof. Heck the windows are wound down manually but the sunroof at the press of a button??? :blink:

The one I saw was an original item..had the logos and all...
The online ETK does not show a glass roof for E30 or the E36.
But that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.. Just very rare. Probably on some specialized parts catalouge.
It shows up on the E46 listings though, probably because it was an optional item when the car was first launched.
If you do manage to find one, make sure it comes with the sliding headliner, and frame to house the additional guide rail for the sliding piece. Otherwise, it's just a piece of glass....

ive seen a putra with front e46's bumper lookalike....preety suit and nice...
