I guess it's a not a bad idea - putting a representation of engine temperature on the tacho......but wonder if it can be calibrated to show the real optimum engine temp at corresponding rev-limit as indicated by the lites. Different cars will probably mean different values too.

Good idea but a water/oil gauge works the same. IMHO. But a good marketing gimmick....again IMHO.

Btw, it ain't a shift lite - at least as what I can read on the description.

Theorectically can be done. Need to know the type of signal from the temperature guage. LED can be calibrated to light up or in this case light off when the temperature of the water rises.. However, not sure whether people like to have the LED light up for 10 to 15 minutes while waiting for the engine temperature to reach the optimum temperature.
