I would say, YES. As the low cluster mainly can see in prefacelift car.

Its not either a facelift or prefacelift thing. It depends how the car is specced when new. Bimmerholic's 1997 E39 has the High cluster, despite being a prefacelift. There are two types of cluster, High and Low:


HIGH instrument cluster:
- Two stalk buttons, one on each side
- 20-digit alphanumeric display at the bottom center
- Oil-service interval light to the left of center

LOW instrument cluster:
- One stalk button (to the left of center)
- No 20-digit alphanumeric display at the bottom center
- Oil-service interval light to the right of center
