some of u know, i want to buy a bmw but still waiting for my dad confirmation.

I want to ask, is it expensive to maintain a bimmer compare to japan cars? and normal service how much?

full tank for e30 1.8 how much?
Depends on how you take care of the car. For me it's affordable. My normal service would be not more than RM300. My last service only RM145. For my M40 318i standard engine it's about RM80+ for a full tank.

err.....I think this is NOT the correct place to ask such GENERAL questions. Please start thread and btw, u are not a newbie to ask such questions.

btw, big tank, small tank - its the CONSUMPTION that matters!

DIY installing the rear absorbers is ok. the front is difficult. you need an airgun, just thinking about compressing the springs with a wrench is a bit out la. it will take a long time. better to send to the shop
who say u need air compressor to work on bimmer's absorbers ?? ive changed all around on my e30 and e34 plus 1 more set for e34's rears and never encounters difficulties that require me to use pawatools ( even i hv those in my garage :D )

xcept once i had to use pawatools to remove a dead lower arm ball joint for my e34, but thats another story..... :lazy:

CKLim, how did you know your thermostat kaput?
I'm about to replace water pump soon, so may as well replace the thermostat. After all it hasn't been replaced since September 1997 :D .

Now my time to change my Disc for front and pads.

1. Bought 15/4/06- Brembo Brake Disc 2pcs- Rm170.00

2. ATE Disc Pads 1 set front- Rm90.00

3. Brake Sensor 1 pc. Rm12.00

4. 8 sets of plastic clips for carpet (so it stays) Rm64.00

5. Signal Relay 1 pc. Rm70.00
mine shows going soon as at times it stops not working well

All the above bought at First Division, my only supplier will wait for me before close shop, thats why I like and reasonable had been with them past 7 years.

Wanted very much to fix my disc yesterday but fail, just can't open the dam tyre nuts so tight and actually just last week change tyres and told them not to tight still can'nt open.. only manage 3 nuts from different side, gave up and only change my signal relay. Looks like got to buy the air compressor soon and the gun set.
