Drive to Penang 12/13 March 2011

Friends,The recently concluded drive to Kuala Selangor was great fun. Thank you for your support.Looking ahead, I am planning the next drive, which by popular request is to Penang. The date I have chosen is 12 and 13 March 2011.Some preliminary hotel options as follows: -1. Berjaya Georgetown - Greg can get us good rates2. Hard Rock Hotel Batu Ferringhi - Will check rates and discount3. Gurney or Northam All Suite - GeorgetownPlan as follows: -Rendevous point - Sg Buloh R&R @ 6:45am on 12th March 2011Route - PLUS highway all the way till Penang, with a stopover in Ipoh for breakfastItinerary - Lunch in Penang, likely Nasi Kandar. Visit places of interest around Penang. Plan a nite BBQ at the beach (will work with the hotel for arrangements or see if Penang Chapter can assist) otherwise some good food along Gurney Drive or a good restaurant in Ferringhi. On 13th, after check out we drive and head to Ipoh for taugeh chicken rice and then it is adiosAs this is a rather long drive around 4 hours or so, there is significant logistical planning required, plus it shall be an overniter.Pls could I have a show of hands on those who can confirm their attendance. Pls bare in mind that this requires planning, so I'd appreciate at least a 80% chance that you are confirmed before responding.Majulah BMWCM!

Good effort bro ssmann, but i might not be able to join this time as I would have just went up north the week before the drive. no money laa..

just out of curiosity, why are these drives being posted in the 7'ers section? shouldnt they be in at least the 'Members Meet Up' section? Reason i asked is because I myself nearly missed the kuala selangor drive if somebody hadnt told me. from the response in the thread i was not alone in not noticing the thread prior to the drive.
