Dragons.. revisited

Hi all,Had a good thread running in the previous forum on Pirelli Dragons.I am currently looking for new donuts and would like to give the Dragons a try.Where and how much for 225/45/17 or 215/5/17?I am currently on 225/45/17 Goodyear F1 GS-D3 (German-made). Plenty of thread left, done about 20k kms on it. Excellent grip, as experienced last weekend in heavy downpours along the East Coast Highway.

They are good all rounders Affan. Just made a trip to Penang and back with them and the journey up north was wet throughout with heavy rainfall on some stretches. Queit and comfy, but then again, they are only about 1.5 months old. I notice the dry grip might not be as good as other performance tyres but on wet it is good. Was doing a writeup on the Dragons a while back after getting it and doing about 500kms on it... lost the darn document after a crash

Try Perniagaan Tayar Sing Yu Huat, 68, Jalan Dato' Haji Eusoff, Kompleks Damai, KL - 03-40412582, ask for Mr Lai. They might have some Dragons in stock or can get them for you pretty fast.Just a note on Dragons and other asymmetrical design tyres. Asymmetrical designs came about from the desire to have good tracktion in both wet and dry. As such, they represent a compromise solution. You will not get the best wet traction, nor will you get the best dry traction. The F1 GS-D3 is definitely a rain tyre and beats Michelin Pilot Sport, Bridgestone S-03 and others, according to a Tirerack report, in the wet.

Vistana Hotel, Grand Seasons Hotel are located in the Kompleks Damai area. Jalan Dato' Haji Eusoff is parallel to Jalan Ipoh.

3er ... got mine from a shop in shahalam for 550 each ...Guys better hurry as i heard rumours that the price is increasing quite a bit ..cheers

I got em at TTDI Lim Tire, but I think this was some 'special' price. Not sure. You might want to check around because like 3er mentioned, the prices can vary quite a bit!

Submarine tires won't be available for long kekeke...official price is more than RM5** when I checked! But yeah, so far good reviews for this tire and if can get it at RM425, definitely worth every sen you pay for. Now waiting to see whether the tire can last!So far, I think the Michelins are the best for me. Trying Hankook now, been promising the past couple of weeks. Let's see how it performs a few months from now.Al

The Gemarny mari F1 GS-D3 is very well matched to the PS2, based on reviews... From what I heard, we are getting Thai mari ones now.. in Malaysia, and its not as grippy compared to those that folks bought earlier.Anyway, here are some comparo links.. on the GS-D3, PS2, SO3.. depending on which wet tests, the reports differ a bit.... esp between the PS2 and GS-D3. I got mine at Lim Tayar on the same day as Eldrow for RM430 for 225/45/R17s. So far, I'm still very impressed with the comfy and grip levels. For that price, it beats my old SP9000s hands-down!! I highly recommend it. B)
