the e39 can accept 3 battery sizes.66/88/100.we can live with din66.the higher rating batteries are for the cold countries where various heater requiremnts are needed ie. windshield wash spray nozzles/wing mirror/,heated steering wheel/heated seats/heated door locks and heated god knows what else!
din66 is sufficient enough and yes i have that on my car
bro wan,i used din66 for my previous e34 where the batt was in the engine bay.lasts approx 2 years maybe due to heat.... e39 has 3 positions where the battery securing assembly can be secured and if i remember right the e34 has only 2,meaning din88 shud be able to fit for the e34
bro moots, ok, thanks for your reply..
err...what are the advantages to put bigger DIN?
err...to let you listen to your car stereo longer time without starting engine??
or to provide more amperes into your car electricity system?
soli la if i hijacked this thread.., did I ?
i was told that it is not recommended to use smaller sized batteries as it can push less current and cause the ECU to go haywire.
I'm on DIN88 for my E39.
I registered my new battery. Did u all? Otherwise your ECU will continue charging at 100% thinking its a 4 year old or more battery eventually frying your new battery and wearing out your alternator. 50 ringgit to register your new battery using Autologica device at your mechanic shop.
Sales advisor Ricky at Quill PJ told me our cars charge at 40% when new, 60% at 2 years, 100% at 4 years. Battery can last 4 years or more that way and Alternator longer too.
