Hmmm, I wonder how they will deal with those factory fitted ones! Crackdown on Xenon headlightsKANGAR: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will act against vehicle owners who modify their headlamps with bright Xenon lights that are blinding to other motorists at night. JPJ Director of Enforcement Salim Parlan said the Xenon lights could blind drivers of vehicles coming from the opposite direction or in front of them. He said the JPJ had received several complaints from the public on these modified headlamps and would take immediate action against modification beyond the set standard under the Road Transport Act 1987. “These Xenon lights are too bright and can obstruct the visibility of other road users at night. “This poses a danger to the other road users,” he said during an integrated traffic operation here yesterday. The Road Transport Act provides for a RM200 fine for modification to a vehicle without the approval of JPJ's technical authorities. Salim said the JPJ was considering regulations to prohibit the use of Xenon lights on vehicles altogether. “We know that vehicles of several manufacturers use such lights. The JPJ will submit its application to introduce such regulations to the higher authorities for consideration,” he said. Commenting on the two-day traffic operation that began on Monday, he advised motorcyclists in the state to get valid licences and update their road tax. State JPJ Director Zahari Awang Senik said that during the operation, 123 summonses were issued for various offences. The operation involved several agencies including the JPJ, Department of Environment, police, National Anti-Drug Agency, Immigration Department, Road Safety Department and Anti-Corruption Agency. – Bernama

Yeah, similarly how are they gonna deal with those factory-fitted dark window panels especially the JDM models???

JPJ can do whatever they want but the problems will never end untill we all go back to walking

they got no more avenues for cari makan oledi...have to find new ones...
its just a very small percentage with HIDs that are blinding and this also by a few uneducated bastards who dont know how to allign them...seriously drive at night and count for yourself ...how many hids do u come accross

actually a lot, u can see every 10 min one HID fitted car. And MOST of them never ever align their lights or align VERY high and beam the light to the sky so that people move out of the way and let them speed. I kena everyday. Its like orang lain tak bayar road tax....

yah but even if its HID its not all that blinds...i drive evrynight and I come accross probably only one and sometimes none with misalligned lights..anyway what Im trying to say here is based on percentage of idiots JPJare going to go all out to incovenience even the non idiots...

yah ur right... very small percentage. I guess when they going to do the raid, they will just catch users with HID and will NOT bring the light alignment machine to count the intensity and angle of the beam. Anyway, i dont think they have that machine.

Sometime (most of the time) they never take count practicality. its like the tint issue. they prefer people get roasted in the car and those with mpv/suv, cannot have their rear window dark so that everyone can see what inside. sign...

whts the legal rated K for the xenon lights?
coz i'm using 8000k HID....

ha ha ha ha... take baca kahh...
there is NO legal rated k for xenon light... becos, if its not factory fitted, its NOT legal.

at 8000k... you may find it difficult to see on a dimly litted road. please be careful.

Relax bro,
Just like past experiences, it will take awhile to sort out the Do's & Don'ts on Xenon and this will follow by debates in the newspapers for the next few days. After that, it will quiet down.............

yeah, agree with fabian on the projector lenses. JPJ should actually make it compulsary for cars with HIDs/Xenons to install projector lenses and not ban the whole use of HID or non-factoried cars with HIDs altogether.

Anyway i doubt there will be action taken, i see so many dato and anak dato using xenons on their perdana/amg/slk/clk/bimmers.

Personally, the worst losers i cant stand using the HIDs are the Myvi drivers.

Are we going backwards in terms of lighting technology?

Any sensible birdbrain will realise that Xenon [aka HID] gives
the brightest light for driving needs, taking over the lead
from Halogen technology.
When any headlight is not aligned to correct levels they
blind oncoming drivers. The ones in power should go after
the anal-heads who DO NOT ALIGN their headlights
irregardless of xenon or halogen bulbing.
Its not the have or the have-nots but the tidak apa-ness of
bolehland's cowboy drivers!

Rationalisation + common sense are the keywords
and not premature condemnation!

I absolutely agree!!

like all politicians and other govt agencies, they talked and announced something 1st, then analysed and changed it later

They shud catch those guys who imported HIDs in the first place....only then the public knows Who is the culprit of channeling the money in....cheh!!!!

Public shud know that those cars which is not fitted which Projector Lense IS useless with HIDs Bulbs.

really la....SarJeePek is right.....the gabermen is going backwards la. Pocket dia orang sudah kosong ma.

Tangkap mat rempit tak pandai....tangkap HID..??? Manyak pandai.

Always the case....end users always kena pay the price.

Pegi tangkap mat rempit la woi...!!!!!!
