As i try to familiarize the car, I notice

1) If I don't lock the car, the iDrive will still on. So is it recommended to lock the car every time
2) Can't open the truck using leg motion as highlighted in the manual book. Is it for 328i and above only?
3) There's a lock nut to unlock one of the special nut on the wheel but what about other nut, how to open in case i need to change tyre?

And lastly i would like to share with you guys that if you drive under the hot sun with maximum aircond blast, temperature will shoot up to almost 110celcius. Then when the car is slowly cool, I reduce the aircond moderately and the temperature slowly crawl back to normal.

Bro, please bear in mind that not all the function that you read in thr user manual is available for our local ckd model and there's also difference in specs between 320, 328 and 320d. FYI, you can still drive with a flat RFT tyre, so there is no need to change tyre by the road side. Anyway, you don't have a spare tyre in your car.

Got it thanks :top:

1)just press ASS button twice(without stepping the brake) , i-drive will off
2)not available for 320 & 328 malaysia spec
3)yes NOT to worry as u r having a RFT

1) Press the engine start stop button twice to completely turn off everything in the car. NOT the ASS button. Anyway by locking the car via your keyfob does the job of shutting down everything. Your lights on the light controls and hazard light button remains on and will turn off after few minutes of arming the car.

2) 335i

3) The special bolt is to unlock the lock nut which acts as a deterrent for rim thief. Do note that you must manually loosen the lock nut with the bolt provided. An airgun used by normal tyre shops will damage this bolt and you cannot find a replacement. The remaining 3 nuts can be loosen by a normal bolt. Not sure if this bolt is provided in the tool kit.

Insist full tank of petrol. Make sure u see full position at the fuel gauge. :top:

After owned the new car for 6 days (mileage clocked less than 350km) sending in my car tomorrow for a few rectification

1) Found grease dripping mark on both the headlamp flown out from somewhere. (SA said could be from the bonnet)
2) Check on the absorber (hear sound driving over bump) could be steering rack.
3) Driver seat (plastic loosen) just below those seat adjustment buttons.
4) To tighten or fix the (triangle panel) at the gear leveler.
5) To question SA on the actual car manufacturing date (Nov 2012) against registration card stated manufactured 2013.

Check your front seat frames for traces of rust.
Check your rear cigarette lighter power supply. Mine has no power supply.

Done with the rectification and i was amazed or rather amused by the answers given by the Head of After Sales

1) Grease marking was due to the bonnet grease flown out from the hydraulic arm. He said our car can't withstand extreme heat park under the sun. Therefore it melts.
2) Sound from the steering rack is operational sound. The rack is no longer using hydraulic but motorized system. Hence the sound every time drive over bump. He said even change the rack the sound will appear again.
3) The manufacturing date on the VIN number (Nov 2012) was the actual month BMW start assembly. The car completed in 2013 hence registration card written year 2013.
4) Service book are now all computerized.
5) Cigarette lighter AC is working fine.
6) Break paddle spring sound rectified. He spray WD40.
7) Temperature fluctuation on our speedometer is not engine temp but oil temp. Therefore he said not to worry even touches 110. However he said if exceed 120 then something wrong. Engine temp overheat will only appear onto the iDrive else it's fine.
8) ASS (ignite itself) less than 20sec wait at traffic light. He said the ASS is very intelligent and will ignite the engine automatically even if we don't do anything.

He shared with me that 2012 total BMW sales in Malaysia (all models) are merely 5000++ units and that is considered a small market. Therefore Germans didn't put priority into solving issues in Malaysia. He said in Germany only less than 5% reported car with issues. It's considered a success rates for them. So why issues happen in Malaysia market???

Sound from steering or absorber coundlt fix?? That's a joke. I don't think my steering create sound, it is the absorber matter.

5000 units is small market... Then they shouldnt enter malaysia market

Bro

I think i have answers for item 1 and 8

1. That is not grease. It will disappear with time. It is an anti-rust agent which is design to melt with heat in order for it to flow into areas which are not reachable manually.
8. The ASS starts or stops depending on multiple conditions which must be met. Eg: cabin temperature, oil temperature, degree of slope, degree of steering turning and etc. You can find this info in the user manual.
