Sifus, when you replace the original downpipe (which I believe has the primary cats), with a catless downpipe, is there any problems with CEL etc ??Do you put back the O2 sensors back after the replace ?

You will throw CELs with catless DPs. A tune should take care of the lights, and gain you some power!

i have the O2 censor for sale if you want, or if you go the way of piggyback ECU, they have the auto code delete so you don't need the o2 censor anymore.

M5port, I just noticed that you have all of the mods I am hoping to put on my car - JB4(or procede), DP, CAI, FMIC, except the larger oil cooler. How's the performance with all your mods ? Shiok ?

yeah, very shiok haha... so far, i think unless you going to track your car, there is little need for Oil cooler, my oil temp hardly go above 120c unless your car doesnt come with one, but now all 2007 onwards should have it especially msport models. Just changed to KW V2 and LCi tail Lamps too..

M5port, I noticed from your signature that you replaced your downpipe with the catless. Does it make any significant exhaust note change, and increase horsepower or torque. Thinking of changing to either REMUS or Eisamman exhaust actually.

Hi M5port,

aaah, you might be able to answer this question for me... if you put JB4 on map 0 (bypass), will the car throw a CEL due to the catless DP ?? I've been told only on map 0, will the diagnostic through the OBD work. Useful for servicing but headache if always throw CEL.... esp if got warranty.

I've got my jb4 but yet to take delivery of my car... ha ha !! Immediately after buying it then discovered other easier tuning option... but still doesn't help on the question above...

I can't answer your question from personal experience, but from talking to some 335i owners, the feedback was that yes the catless DP makes significant difference (faster spool up and overall power)... In terms of noise, apparently some catless DP increase aggressive exhaust note, some don't. I was recommended Ultimate Racing DP as one of the ones that give a nice noise...

But all those 335i owners are on ecu remap or piggyback. Not sure if it's the same on stock car, but I don't see why there won't be improvements.

I do remember running catless on my prev modded wrx and once I did that, the bumper above the exhaust always turn yellow... sianz... and my 335i is white in color.... arggg.

YEs, i used to own an Eisenmann Race Quad and with my AR Catless DP, well, it sure beats any v8s around, so in the end, i sold the eisenmann, leaving just the DP in the car. Remus is signicantly softer, i replaced mine with stock, but fabricated a similar quad tips at Everco, Sunway. as for power gains, yes , DP does increase your torque and hp.

Well Shlim, yes map 0 is like turning off the bypass and connects back to the ECU. and yes, it does turn off the auto delete code. However, if you are just doing servicing, like oil changes, usually the cat sensor doesnt kick in immediately, requires a bit of a drive before it throws the fault code. therefore you are still safe as just doing normal servicing , they dont usually test your car after, Just turn off the map right before you hand the keys to the service center. I have got a bluetooth odb adapter that connects to my samsung galaxy note using the Torque App, so far i have tested it running on map 2, it reads the speed, etc well.

Ultimate Racing DP? Where can I get them and around how much is costs.

I don't mind going for the cheaper alternative, if I can roughly get the same exhaust NOISE (loudness) from it.

So far some BMW I came across in Sunway, their exhaust are loud. But when I go near to see their exhaust tip. No name on it. Well, some I know is REMUS cause it's stated there.

Why did u revert back to stock? Was it too loud,or was it due to droning? I'd like to change but I don't want something that'll drone. The stock is already loud enough.

Supergripen - Loud like Muddafakka and DRONE like a bitch ! i think im half deaf now because of it. but high RPMs, super sweetttttttttttttt. Pardon me for the use of my french.

E92i - you are free to meet up with us and check out each of our setup, we all have very different setups. Also, we havent had a e92 gathering in awhile....

JFA does d primary downpipes 4 about rm1k, Have had it 4 6 months, n never threw a check light. Best money spent imo. How much were d evercos?. D imported ones cost at least twice d amount n they r known 2 throw error codes. Do a full exhaust inc d 2 back boxes 4 around 2.5k. As msport suggests, let meet up n c 4 yrself.

So u're running a full JFA built setup then? They can tune the exhaust note to ur liking rite? Does it drone at all?

No drone, super, n they did d x section as well. Exhaust feels a lot lot freeeeer than stock. No more restrictive flow from dps, secondary cats n stock boxes. I seriously like d sound of d my exhaust, louder than stock 4 sure which i feel is a tad 2 quiet. This coming from an old uncle like me should give u some comfort.
