car shaking while idling without aircond

sory to miss another key point in my problem...the shaking occur when the AC is off while in D gear...no shaking observe when AC is on while in D gear....sory to miss the point regarding the position of the gear when it shaking...

This is interesting because my engine roughness readings from INPA is always higher when the AC is OFF.

In other words, the engine is rougher when the AC is off (if my interpretation is correct).

Even after replacing the ICV, it is still the same.

correct....dari stand still tekan break dalam gear D kereta akan begegar teruk...tapi kalau buat benda yang sama bila AC pasang xjadi pulak...havent change yet..waiting for gaji dulu..hehe

This seems to be a standard problem on straight engines. I took delivery of my brand new F10 last month and noticed that the engine/car shakes during initial/cold start and lasts for about 1.5 minutes. Took it to service centre and they could not diagnose the problem. Problem still persists. Written to BMW Germany and awaiting response.

Hi, I think it's not a problem. It's a BMW I6 character. It will vibrate like that when you first fire it up in the morning. Try step on the gas a bit when your car is at still, it vibrates the same way. Be it E46, E90, they are all the same. I guess it's the same on others. Don forget your 6 cyclinders are not lining like Japanese cars.

Other sifu, do correct me if I am wrong.

Bro, I oso experience some small degree of vibration for around 10-15 secs before the car stabilizes. But the vibration feels like misfiring lah. I tried diagnosing and even AB oso cannot find the cause of the slight vibration during cold start up.

Can explain a bit why u say its normal for our I6?

gone for a checkup but the shop say must change PCV air valve and hose..due to many say its AFM so decided to hold the repair first and do some more research..the shop say mine bocor already and need to change..he quote me around RM285 for the valve and RM100 for the hose..both item quoted are used part...reasonable?

Bro since you have quoted wt the used part price, why not get the price from BA or other spare parts shops around Jln Ipoh for the new parts price to compare ?

yup somewhere in the picture..he done test like to detect puncture tyre and bubble come out...say that my air intake system is in no good condition so suggested to change those 2 items..the problem disturbed air flow and caused my RPM to fluctuate. Can this related to my car having bubbly sound when putting paddle to the floor (small plup2 sound)

Bro FYI i learn from sifu Jarance tips b4 that the ICV can be clean if your mechanic willing to help you. I did mine b4 almost 1 year b4 and my ICV still works well till now. Ask your mechanic to remove your ICV and use some petrol pour into the ICV and shake it few mins and you will hear the sound tik..tak..tik..tak..of the valve flip open-closed. You will see the dirt come out when your mechanic pour out the petrol.

Hi Guys,
Sorry to jump in here...
Got my 318i - 2003 few days back... having some issues with start-up.. when i start the car, the whole engine vibrates and there is no acceleration when i press the pedal... this only happens on fresh start-up ...
i have to turn off the engine and restart in-order for everything to be stable...

any idea what is the issue here? sorry guys, not a pro about cars but i just love the BMWs ...
any help would really be appreciated...
