Bro, u mean the iDrive monitor? Yes you can! But you will need to install a so called Multimedia Interface 1st in order for you to do so. Price would be various from RM1.6k - RM2.xk, w/o the camera itself.

Mind just spent RM 1.8k only...i got 1 interface and front/rear camera...view very clear and night vision..brand alpine...also can built in GPS...but i not install yet...

Sorry bro sewell I can't show u the photo of that device because it is installed inside the iDrive (behind the monitor), I don't have the enough skill to open up the monitor, haha.

It was actually in color but when I did my audio/ video rewiring, I got it in black n white ..... Price is within the range of RM1.5K -RM2.5K depending on who is selling and fixing it.....asked around and exercise your rights to get the best value for money....:top:

Just can see the image around 10 sec relay after completed your car reverse. But mind have another switch to constant image,,,can see continuously.
Reasonable and practical during front parking and handling by your wife also. To eliminate or avoid front bumper from damage during front parking.
But to be aware the image you see in monitor may be closed and far from original distance.Should be familiar with your camera position first.
Mind is true color image(not black and white). Also must be used original BMW interface for 5 series(E60).

It also allows me to connect to a reverse camera (see the other attachment) which is integrated to the boot switch (soft touch type) and the other pic is the video playing on the I-drive screen. BTW, no, Bond is not behind my car. That is my IPod movie

Now this question I can answer you :4:
Installing interface has nothing to do with the FM frequency - it only enables you to integrate GPS module, aftermarket DVD/MP3/USB player, and reverse camera into your iDrive via push of a button. You will learn more on this when you decide to go for this option :top:
As for frequency.. They will use a software to program the FM frequency. If your iDrive screen is brownish, you will be able to set te frequency manually and save. If your software is the newer version (silver screen), then your car will automatically scan all the available channels and display them in your iDrive everytime you start your car.. Nope! You can't save the channels yet (the only downside). But my close source says that I will be able to manually set the FM channels once the new machine comes in (keep my fingers crossed)

But the the monitor looks like a low-resolution monitor that can only handle "not much" color?

Will the image distorted?
