Hmm we can try the eva[poration test - just put 2 glasses of Techron vx Shell in the hot sun for 1 hour and see which one evaporates more.

I would be highly worried if evaporated fuel could escape our fuel tanks- that would make us all explosion hazards!

I think what your source was trying to say is that Techron is more volatile than other petrols- ie. it burns easier. Yes, that could mean that it evaporates "easier" too, but considering that our fuel tanks are closed systems, any evaporation in the tank will condense on the inside walls of the tank and eventually flow down.

My vote Caltex :eek:k:

As for the evaporated fuel is actually going back to the throttle body control by a valve after the charcoal filter. It recycle...

im using shell cos the Cashier is cute :D further more when the cashier not around the boy pump for me..so i just stay in side the car..+ Got bonus link point some more

Cheers

Just thought I would share my experience with Caltex with you guys..

Once upon a time....before my present Rachel was even born yet...I can only afford a kapchai...I believe all petrol are the same, but those who had had their days on kapchais would probably notice that the engine runs smoother with Caltex...but FC suck....but those time you dont care so much about FC since you pay the same dollar for a liter of petrol and a kotak kecik Dunhill...and you can smoke while doing both...phew

BP's the worst...your kapchai engine can suddenly turn to sound like a tongkang after filling them in. Petronas...Shell...almost the same in terms of FC, engine sound and pick-up. No comment on Projet...

Had my Rachel filled with RM50 of Techron 2 days ago at half tank...would probably be clocking 150km by noontime today and I think I need to refill again before the tripmeter reaches 200km....rugi 20 kilo...

mizuan,u name ur udm rachel???thts cool.....mines sasha :eek:k:

anyway, yes i find caltex very effective and the performance is more punchy but i find tht the fc for me aint tht great.

i tried caltex techron92,not too bad, slight ping but goes a long way(more thn techron97 anyway).

esso/mobil is the nxt best alternative whn it comes to ron92(regular) compared to the esso/mobil f1(premium) which burns faster thn shell v power(in my opinion)...

but my best bang for the buck is petronas.doesnt matter if its the 97primax or the 92
....yes there r still a few petrol stations offering the ron92 variant...
there is 1 opposite the bp station heading to the old subang airport.
btw,so far,as ron92 petrol goes,i find tht petronas ron92 doesnt ping at all....nada,zilch....and best part of all, pick up still feels the same as it does if we were to use the primax97.

projet.... now this is a weird thing, sometimes i get damn good fc on projet(doesnt matter if its the 92 or the 97)and on certain days it pings like hell....
any1 encountered the same thing with projet b4?

bp,by far its the worst among the petrol brands listed by me....
engine pings and car feels like its on a heavier load...

rgds,
-brad-

i still vote for Petronas

excellent FC... power n smooth oki la

but if we keep switching diff brand of petrol very pump

it is good??

pls advise..

TQ

tyke and leakwoon...

yeah! perhaps my Rache could try some liquid from Petronas for her next fill...then I have to apply for the Mesra card lah...RM10 per application kan? :dunno:

cant advise on whether its a good thing to do though...I mean changing the liquids....maybe those who don't care about bonus points or motorola L7 or the V6 can give us some of their experience :lazy:
