I changed mine to whiter bulbs.
Bought them for between RM 30 to 50 (cannot remember exactly) a pair from Calvin's place.
It is brighter than the normal bulbs.

kk guys..

insted of whiter lights or whatever that you guys have been discussing(which i'm pretty clueless about)

can ANYONE tell me how do you make the current cabin lights brighter??
change of bulbs?or what?

thanks!

hi beemerster,

sorry to interrupt, these guys dont really know what u mean,as for cabin lights, I think they are right with the topics...maybe what u meant is d instrumentation light (or can i say cockpit light would be nice) which is brighten up with 2 LED situated just at the cabin light, (On/Off switch for cabin and reading lights). It is turn ON when u switch the headlights and can be control by dashboard/panel dimmer on the right hand of steering. It is dimmed maybe bcoz of its color and not glaring the drivers sight(vision) during night driving. But its cool with that amber/orange color
of the gear shift section.

If i'm wrong on this (thousand apologies),pls attach photo to get other members opinion.....

BP8000,

you the man!!!hahaha....a very good pointer,so allow me to rephrase my predicament...

i'm seeking brighter orange/amber lights at the cockpit area.the said lights are:

1) the 2 ORANGE lights located at the reading lights switch at the front, near the rear view mirror.pointing towards the g/box panel.
2) the instrument meter panel( speedometer, rpm, bla bla bla)
3) the climate control switches
4) the radio

Basically, anything that's originally backlit in orange colour, i want them to be brighter!!like a very intensed orange-yellow emitted light.

The reason i brought this up is simply i sat in a 2002(last last last batch)of E39 and found that its cabin lights are MUCH brighter than mine.

So, in order to achieve this, must i get new orange bulbs for my car or any other solution?

NOTE:in no way am i referring to the reading yellow lights in the car. interested parties can perhaps open another thread on this. it is just that i FEEL UDM has more of orange ambience, and i'll stick to that. anything which suggests other colours would remind me of a non-udm.

thanks to all!

for the instrument meter panel, i had the light bulb changed last weekend, now it is much brighter
