Hi Guys, I've read with great interest about the Z4 roadster, so much so that I would like to have one.. I hope someone here can help me by providing some leads as to which dealer in KL to go to, I'm from Penang you see. I'm looking at a '04 to '05 Z4 2.5 and my budget is about 210K. It's a bit on the low side but hopefully can get me one. Thanks again and any assistance here is very much appreciated.

hi tkw,

welcome to BMWCM. one of our forummers, danda, is looking to sell his beautiful white 2.2 z4! maybe u cud PM him to arrange for viewing. cheers!

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestion, I'm looking for the 2.5 model and I spoke to a few dealers in KL. And it looks like it is ok with the budget I have to get me an 04 model.

I should be hearing from them somewhere early next week.

Thanks again.

tell me which dealer can do at rm215k. i am interested too. cheers:top:

Hi Eymc,

I was looking around for a Z4 in Penang but not much luck so I came here for some leads and I read elswhere here that Sanjay got his from Euro Marque for 210K.

hi jeffroom,i just saw the registration, the z4's dec 2004, so i squeeze the block at the dealers and his givin it 2me for 210 now, ooooh,by the way it's a jap recond and it's 2.5,mate.

So I called up this guy Dave (EuroMarque) but right now they don't have any Z4's left but he said that was sold for 220K. Gave him my number and my budget (210K - 215K), said he'll call me back and still waiting for his reply.

The other was an ad in MotorTrader last month. Called him but his (also '04 2.5) was sold prior to CNY for 218K. Again left my contact and still awaiting his reply.

Hey why not we buy together and ask for some kind of discount, ridiculous as it may sound? :top:

hi tkw,

i went to euro marwue personally but also finish already. KL dealer all close to rm 235k for a 2.5. sure we can buy together when u can find a good dealer. i will inform you if i find one. There is one in penang open price 260k!! hahaha.

cheers

Guys, is good to hear tht u guys getting a Z4..welcome 2 the Z's family....Try sunway near the Guiness Anchor factory.

hi eymc,

spoke to Dave of Euromarque this afternoon, told him that we have 2 potential buyers and to look out for us. There will be some new cars coming in in the following week or 2, he said.

hi jeffroom, thank you for the heads up and welcome. I'm looking forward to laying my hands on one. Z4 for me !

Btw, does anyone here has any experience with the M54 engined 3.0 Z4? How much better is it over the 2.5 model? There's used one offered for sale here in Penang, it's a 2 owner 03 model asking for 240K, a bit steep in my opinion since SG Auto is asking the same for their unregistered JapSpec'd unit.

Hi tkw, for the 3.0 z4 wat i saw is the interior are difference and the steering if i not mistaken they hv control on it.Perfomance wise will be better of coz, but the 2.5 tht im havin i hv no complain at all.Buts guys FYI some of the Z4 come wit monitor at the dashboard, mine dun hv it.Guy hope u guys get ur Z4 quickly so tht we can meet up for a drink. We can convoy our Z4 to KL...Lolzzzzz!!!!!!...good luck guys!!!

Hi Jeffroom,

I've just came back from testing one 2.5 '04 unit today. Condition as as near new as a 4 year old car could possibly be. I think my heart is taking control over my mind now and I won't be sleeping well tonight..

It's a Japan spec'd unit with the multi function display / SatNav function. Is there anyway to make the radio work properly (the frequency range) without fitting the range booster? My JDM Harrier has got 3 fitted (one after another) and reception is still not up to par, probably due to Penang's hilly terrain but my AB E46 have no such problem.

Secondly, how to make the SatNav work? Anyone has information or experience on this? I have been told to use an interface card from Garmin but if possible, I would like to stick to BMW's original setup, and even if I have to change the hardware I would try to get one from BMW first.

It's a marvellous experience and after the test drive I now understand all the praises you guys heap on it, Z4 rocks!

hi TKW, on the radio frequency 2 change 2 our local channel is not a problem.i juz did mine and is juz take less than 5 mins & is done.So no worries, thr is a post in ere 2 show u how to change the setting.I took the tips fr tis forum, so u dun need any booster and save ur money..On the nav/sat i hv no idea but im sure thr is a way 2 do it..All the best 2 u bro..Wat colour u plan 2 get it?

aiyo......so nice tkw!!! tomorrow i am going to check one unit at Pj hope they can fit my needs!!

Will post my findings when i am done!!!

HI eymc,

Euromarque has one unit coming next week i think, now in port pending tax clearance. It's a black unit according to Dave but not sure of the top and interior colour.

I find the steering response sharp and and engine very responsive, huge improvement over my SLK230 (soon to be ex, to make way.. for the zed).

Go for it, I know I am!

Hi Tkw,

So you are gonna get it in penang or KL ?will come over to check out the one in euromarque? i am so keen on a black one.

Today i saw one that is almost very close to my thoughts dee but pricing is major concern at 240k for a black 2.5/04 with facelift. White clear lense....red leather seat, 18 incher........nice!!!

now that u said euromarque has got one coming in...i guess i'll view it too before i go all out on this one. Oh not much much accesorries though...no tv and so on...plain nia.

So....keep updating on new findings!!! happy bimmer-ing man!!!

Hi eymc,

The unit I saw in Penang is Grey Silver, I think same as the unit Euromarque sold recently. It has got TV, SatNav but seats are black and 17" rims, which is ok by me. Penang's roads are hopeless in some areas, I've just replaced my E46's rims last week, 2 were damaged by potholes.

In my opinion, going for the the unit with TV and SatNav makes better sense, if you want this function. Fitting them aftermarket is going to cost you $$$ not to mentioned the major makeover of the dash. I want the navigator as I like driving down to KL and I'm always confused each time in the city.

You should look at EuroMarque's unit before deciding, I'm taking the unit in Penang. Happy Z4ing!

Hey Tkw

Coming back to the TV thing and satenav...........does it work here in our country? cause i ask those sales man they cannot answer lah. He switch on during one of the unit i see but he say i must buy some gps stuffs to make workable.....very clueless here.

hi mates,
tkw,
euromarque don't pay tax until the car is sold and only after they receive bank's loan undertaking letter and ur downpayment. yeap,as for the nav[it's not sat, it's cd or dvd disc base] monitor it's cool to have it,but after a while it's only cosmetics coz i had it on my e39,yes for 4drs it's cool coz everyone else can enjoy watching dvds[provide if u spend another rm2k+ for the dvd changer and another rm3k+ for the bypass cable purchased via the net] and living with the stupid/badly planned local roadmap system.well that's my opinion, mate.

eymc,
yes,it works - the tv only works when ur car is station, if u want it 2play while moving u need to buy the bypass as mention above and the nav with a cd or dvd of the local/singapore disc.

anyway, nothings exciting with a want it all desire, right mates?

hai tkw and eymc,

So... have you guys got ur car yet?
Well, i have posted in one of the threads that there is one black z4 on sale.
The car has : beige leather interior, metallic black, hamman staggered 19 in rims, hamman exhaust and bodykit, and very low mileage (~3500 miles),only one owner.
The car is however manufactured in 2003 but registered in 2005, and comes in 2.5L. Yeah, you might say it is a bit old, but, only one owner with superb condition, plus all the hamman accesories.
The asking price is a bit more than your budgeted RM215k range, but then, wait until you see the car man.. plate no is xx 25.

Give me a call / sms, and i will show you to the car which is now park at one of the dealers in kl.

cheers,

Hi Sanjay,

Thanks for brief, I was thinking on that line too. The Z4 is a driver's car, not one to be cocooned in watching DVD or toying with the Navigator (your're right, not Sat). Having said that, it would be an interesting challenge to make it work. Being an electronic buff, I'm just dying to find out how to make Japanese BMW navigator works in Malaysia.

I've contacted one guy in the Bimmer forum in NZ who's got experience in converting these Japanese imported BMWs to work locally and from what I learned, I would need to replace the Navigator DVD reader and some soldering work which I will be doing it myself. The cost should be within RM3K, maps excluded. Well i've got the latest Malaysian/S'pore maps in DVD so all I need is that Navigator and of course.. the car!

Hi naharnms,

I think I saw an ad in Motor Trader of a Black Hamann kitted Z4 with big alloys. Perhaps eymc maybe interested. My preference is Ti or Grey Silver in that order, with black top and interior. 19" rims won't last a week in my hands in the streets of Penang, i'm afraid. But thanks for mentioning in the first place!

Anyone here knows of where can I get those chrome lined (with white blinkers) headlights, side white blinkers and rear lamps? And a chrome grille?
