Brake Light Circuit on e36

just got the indicator showing this on my e36.. checked on the service manual, but its has nothign to do with the broken fiuses or bulbs.... . it comes on n off... once i turn off the engine, it disappears... but came back on after while... any idea on this matter? pls drop some solution.. thks.. n happy hari raya.!
 
Check your brake light switch also..., is a switch at or near your brake's pedal.

Sometimes I encounter that message too. After touching & massaging the switch..the message gone...hehe...

even with the warning on, all my brake lights are working perfectly...went out for dinner just now, the sign came out again.. ignored it.. when im on my way back, it has gone completely...

really have no idea at all..! sigh...

The contact between the bulb holder and the light cluster that has oxidised which results in high resistance. Therefore the car thinks it has blown a bulb.

Solution:
Clean the contacts on both sides with sand paper and voila! all i well for the next few months or years (depending on your sanding skills).

Ex-E36 owner here....

today seems fine.. no warnin light at all!
