Stupid question: Which way does the aerodynamic flap on the Bosch wiper (the longer blade, on driver's side) is supposed to face: upwards or downwards? Thanks.LCP

Are you talking about this ? it use wind to help push toward windscreen to wipe water at high speed

P/S: Image from Johan and Sean web

Oops, if downwards then I have a problem if I put it that way, the blade can't latch to the holder, easily coming loose at high speeds, but if I put it upwards facing, no problem, if will click and latch into place. Strange, the place that sold me the wiper told me it's upwards facing but a mechanic told me it's downwards facing...

Sorry, no photos...

Okay, I think I figured out what went wrong, that shop sold me the wiper meant for left hand drive models, duh! That is why I can't get it to "click" into place with the spoiler facing downwards, but can if the spoiler is facing upwards...

huh, wtf a left hand drive wiper blades in Msia

dun think it was for left hand drive....but i think for normal sport wiper blade with spoiler....the spoiler will be upwards.....we can see in honda/proton etc

It's a Bosch wiper, dunno what model, but more expensive than the usual "tropical formula" version. On the box, before I threw it away, I remembered it is stated there for E36 and also Volvo S40/V40 (the older model)... and no other cars, very limited application. I should have looked closer at the fine prints then, maybe there's something about LHD and RHD printed...

Anyway, the car will be driven at below 90km/h 99.5% of the time on this small and over-crowded island, will not get to see much of the spoiler effect.

Thanks...

The aerodynamic feature of that wiper spoiler (only on the right hand side wiper) ought to be doing the same job regardless of which side the driver is, isn't? I don't think in the LHD version the wipers are fixed differently and wiping in opposite direction than the RHD ones...

Okay, I have solved this whole thingy... take out the wiper, take out the clip from the wiper, turn the clip around, put the clip back in to the wiper, and walla, put the wiper back on, and it now clicked into place with the spoiler facing "stock" downwards position...

Thanks everybody...
