With my shorts, sandals and singlet, even my mum says I look like an apek.

I walk into a shop, the shop keeper speaks to me in Chinese. Once I was stopped by a Policeman and he opens his mouth with "Hello Towkay, you mau pigi mana?".

So confirmed Apek. The only thing is I have long discarded the toothpick!

Dunno about you guys, but i happen to notice that while everyone is sharing their thoughts...whatever happened to the thread starter? i mean, he just started a thread and that was that.

:top::top::top: BMW = Be My Wife :top:

BMW = Brings More Women, not Brings More Rolexes (BMR). Anyway women have more functions than watches, so the correct match for a a BMW is a woman. A woman like Maggie Q in MI2.

Btw, I don't wear a watch at all. Berat sebelah tangan and God says we should be Ringan Tangan.

Salut

I think TAG is a bit too cheap for BMW...

TAG has 3 ranges.

Collectors will go for the big and heavy auto ones and they are not cheap.

I would go for a Tag but cannot afford yet meh...right now satisfied with Tissot

BMW : Bring More Watches? or Bikin Mahu Watches?

Archimede's are very nice and reasonably priced. Do you know who carries them in Malaysia or are they all purchased online?

Yes there is a local dealer for Archimede... Here are the details:

Malaysia The Watch Guild Sdn Bhd
Marc Service Residence B-G-01
No. 3, Jalan Pinang
50450 Kuala Lumpur

Miss Janet Yee
Email: janet.yee@watch-guild.com
Tel: 216 12345

Here is a link to a good local watch forum. I was there together with some BMWCM forummers in the first meeting of MWF, and one of the folks in the gathering decided to take the initiative to start the forum below. The founders of MWF are all Paneristi's who have a bunch of other time pieces in their collection. Crazy fellas :)

What do u guys think of these relatively affordable timepieces?... Fashionable minus the snob factor of high end watches... BIG Watch as well which I like :)

http://www.redarmywatches.com/collection_brand.asp?brand=4&page=2

http://www.archimede-uhren.de/US/Arcadia.htm

I bought a Junker horizon (http://www.redarmywatches.com/collection_brand_details.asp?id=82&cat=15&brand=6) and the watch looks very nice. Build quality of its casing (BVD coated) and strap is quite good for its price range (RM1k plus) but I was rather let down by the miyota movement, not for its lack of accuracy, but somehow, it kinda feels "loose", i.e. when i shake the watch, sometime the second hand moves faster... go figure?!?!? Top marks for design and casing built quality tho.

I do agree some of the watches that Red Army sells looks really nice. However, not sure about the quality of the movements that they use tho... I guess thats where the higher end watches comes in....

Keen to see how the archimede performs. Looks good from the website.

Personally I never thought Rolexes were fashionable. But Rolexes and Panerai's are good investments. TAGs and other mass market brands just drop in prices due to high production quantities.

I too never did thought that Rolexes were fashionable. More like "uncle" watches. But recently, the Explorer II is starting to grow on me... must be age catching up....heheh!

You don't buy Tags / Oris / Tissot type brands for investment la... Even some rolexes drop in price. But they do make very sturdy everyday office watches.

For investment, you should be looking at higher end "limited edition" type watch brands that probably cost as much as your Beemer (and most M'sia can't pronounce - me included!! :D) Even then, I dunno if the market in Malaysia is mature enough to appreciate these watches... only a very select few IMHO.

Nice collection pic!

Watch is like a car, you buy what you like and can afford, and you change your taste as you grow (Age & financially). Many of us drive kancil before Toyota, and eventually BMW, and some will go furhter with Lambo or Fararri (I cant even spell it right). Rolex just a popular brand with good trading value beside it is a Reliable watch! Once you have Rolex you will move to the next level like Patek...

Omega & Tag are all reliable watches, and most of them share same brand of movement - ETA during early time, ETA is one of the most common movement use in Swiss watch, You will find the same movement use in Cartier also.
