Ooo...i'd rather service my car in a reputable unathorised centre but not my rolex eventhough its more expensive than servicing cars...

I know a place in PJ old town where a very old uncle can service your rolex. I was told that he was quite good though.

Rolex? hhhmmm most of their designs are too old for me, but i would like to have Milgauss. Got Tissot on my wrist now.

How often do you need to service your lorex? Have not done it for 10 years since I own one. :listen:

btw, it still working fine. my tag which I wear almost everyday need to replace battery only after 6 yrs.

Some people suggest you sevice every 5 years. A watch seller in Germany told me that you don't need to service your watch unless it starts giving problems like getting slower and slower. This is because the oil used today is synthetic type compared to the oil they use 20 years ago. Somehow rather watch manufacturer still insists you to send the watch for servicing every 5 years. The watch seller himself has been wearing his mechanical watch (a Fortis) for 16 years without any kind of servicing. If you ask me personally, it is suffice to just change the rubber seal every 3 years.

I suggest you change the battery for your tag every two years, maximum 3 years. This is because even a healthy battery also can leak without any signs or symptoms

This true. One of my watches was destroyed cos the battery leaked and bulged. I left it for too long and didn't look at it at all. When I did, It was beyond economical repair. That is why I prefer an automatic.

I had enough of mechanical and analogue watches because they are not accurate. Same goes to quartz watches. Now, I am into the digital watch route. My current favourite is Suunto Vector X Black - superb time keeping, accuracy is + - 1 sec for every 6 months. It has a barometer, altimeter, a compass, weather trend indicator.

.... :listen: my fake polex has all that too plus is guranteed Water-Proof ...once the water gets inside the watch ...it stays there and wont drained out ....:five::biggrin::vroam:cabutzzzz......::vroam:
