BMW Performance power kit

image.do

The BMW Performance power kit for the BMW 120d and BMW 320d further enhances your vehicle's already impressive engine output. It features a combination of software and hardware components that work together as a package. The engine tuning parameters have been modified to enhance output. However, this generates extra heat, and so modifications are also needed to deal with this. These include a larger intercooler, and a more powerful 600-watt electric fan. The result is an increase in maximum output from 130 to 145 kW, and in maximum torque from 350 to 390 Nm. The car now accelerates 0.5 seconds faster from 0 to 100 km/h, 0.8 seconds faster from 80 to 120 km/h in fourth gear, and 1.0 seconds faster from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear. Maximum speed is also 5 km/h* faster. For BMW 320d, 320xd (130 kW/350 Nm) from 03/07 onwards.

If you google around they're expecting the price to be around 2000 euros. Not sure if it'll ever make it to our shores though...

i gt ready stock for E90/E92 bmw performace break system call me jason 016-2101150 for more detail

Hi Jason

Just woonder how much the cost will be and what differ does it make compared to my 320d stock brake?

interested but not getting at time being.planning should I get more moolah from sky this year :)

Just my 2 sen worth in using the Performance Air Intake for just over a week:

BMW claims it will add 3hp.

Sound: a deeper growl when accelerating, noticeable even to non-car enthusiasts
Acceleration: felt easier, lighter, faster - but could be just the expectation of better performance leading to me feeling it.
Fuel consumption - appears to have improved it by approximately 0.2km/L for city driving (including running on city highways like DUKE) when using RON95, to roughly equivalent to fuel consumption when using RON97. Based on 341km of usage so far.

BMW Performance Air Filter...sure good one...

bro Traveler,

3 HP increase in Performance Air Intake is not a 'sudden' power you can feel...honestly. The pull comes in the midrange power band, where you can feel the pull or 'tarik' sensation from 3000-6000 RPM. Try it in manual gear setting and let the 2nd gear pull till 5000 RPM before changing to 3rd geAR. There u will see the difference between a normal air filter induction vs BMW Performance Air Filter. Of course there must be some BIG difference after paying almost RM3800!!!

As for fuel consumption, i must say thats subject to style of driving. If tekan more, how to save fuel? If drive like Pakcik, then of cost can save la.

Also u wrote that u were using Ron 95 for yr test run? I hope not bro...325i gotta run on Ron 97 lawei...no wonder no power la..hehe...

So wats the next Performance upgrade?? Lemme suggest...Rear BMW Performance exhaust/silencer, that will be a perfect match for the Performance Air Filter in front!

Cheers.

Agree with traveler. The performance intake is a must for 325's. The engine scream at 7k rpms is much nicer and the induction growl on WOT at midrange as well. Based on "independent" tests run by our BMWCM members, its worth a car length or so as well on a drag ;)

Ok, will give that manual thing a shot next chance I get.

FC was measured using the same driving style and same routes as pre-Air Intake. So I can deduce that my usual daily work commute driving style is more efficient with the Performance Air Intake.

Bro, for normal daily commutes that average

Agree with Traveler. RON95 is sufficient for all BMWs except for the ///Ms. Knocking only frequents for high compression ratio engines. It's not going to make that much difference in terms of FC or performance. The only difference the car may feel faster because your wallet is lighter after a fill up.
