I was having breakfast while just checking out the price at the Bavarian Auto stockist, was very surprise to find that the LCI tail lamp (OEM Hella) price at RM580 per piece; total of RM1160 for both side; anyone knew any shop can do retrofit at a fees? Those Sunway shop wouldn't allow u to bring ur own set I reckonIf the retrofit price is reasonable; very interested to make the LCI conversion, also check the LCI headlamp came at RM1510 per piece :)Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2

Indeed its cheap bro ... some outlet in Sunway do allow you to bring in your own stuffs to hvae them fixed it .... :4: ...

Yea mate; the price was down to a very reasonable rate :), was told a while ago it was still RM8xx per piece for the LCI tail lamp. Will find some times to check around whether if there's any shop willing to do the retrofit for a fees. Bavarian Auto told me they will come back to me if they knew such shop, left my contact number with them.

Try racing fit and look for Kong and say you are frm BMWCM ... :top:

Creed, maybe just the tail lamp but without the module..anyway, still very much cheaper......

Wow, it's a good buy bro, care to share which outlets of Bavarian you went to, I'm interested to replace those LED light

Basically all Bavarian Auto do provide the same pricing. It's the LCI tail lamp without the lamp module. I've briefly spoke to Yazmeen and he told me there is a relay (something like that) required for the retrofit of LCI lamp on the pre-LCI car. I'm waiting for his confirmation on the cost of the relay + labour.

Cheers

Thanks bro for your info, would appreciate if could share how much would the whole package coast inclusive of installation. Thanks again

The principal is the same with the E60 model where the LCI lights cost so much and the module another. However I had mine fixed without the module with a bit of modification done. How its done is a trade secret and was not able to see it but its done :4: ......

I recently did the conversion.
Purchased the rear LCI tail lights from Bavarian Auto, price was 568 each.

Did the conversion with Racing Fit in Sunway. Contact was Calvin. They have a website with contact details.
Calvin requires a prior appointment, due to usage of a third party wireman who does the actual conversion.
Conversion costs are additional, of course.

A point to note is that Bavarian Auto will want to sell you a relay as well, for the conversion.
The relay is not required. I believe that either the wireman provides the relay, or does something to bypass it.

Nice enough job, retains 90% of functions according to the wireman, you just lose the parking light function,
a feature that I would say is rarely required in urban Malaysia. And I don't see it used in rural areas much either.

I too just did the conversion last Saturday; instead of going for re-wiring; I opted to get a direct plug-and-play relay from eBay; it's quite costly which is around RM9xx with shipping included; however the processes is plug-and-play and totally reversible to original if needed.

Done the conversion myself in 30minutes and couldn't be happier; I opted the Special Brake effect which means even you apply brakes; the 5 liners still perfectly visible as they utilize the fog lamp as the brake lamp :)

Cheers mate; got the OEM hella LCI light from BA at RM568 each

Planning to do retrofit later..can you share the ebay link for relay with special brake effect?

Finally converted mine. Got it working without the use of modules but only thing is that the light bars will only come when ignition is set to on. When ignition is off, only the bulbs are on when I turn them on the side lights.
