318 has it as well. Only difference I really see is the gear shifting points. In E, it shifts at about 2500rpm, in S more around 4000+.

its power..but ur gearbox become easy kaput,my gearbox also kaput already..but my pomen say..gearbox kaput because of minyak gear yang salah..i donno la mana satu..i changed my gearbox with halfcut cost 3k,but naik bukit tak power la..also bila nk pecut je rasa cam berat dh lama skit baru dia laju...mungkin 2ndhand gearbox kot...

i think its normal la.. 36 very poor low end.. especially wt a autobox, lazy lazy lazy. even in S mode... i simply prefer just to drop the gear stick.. i also dont like kickdown effect when u floor the pedal.. yes you can feel some G's, but the way the gearbox and engine response is not smooth..

true, you start to feel the torque only after 110kmh... at this speed, try dropping ur gear stick to 3, yum yum, the fun begins.. 140 - 200 is a pleasure to drive..

if you to 12 unleash this beast true colours, go manual... $$$

for me S-mode mean extract more power under the hood
u also can re-map gearbox ECU to change the shifting point but this need modification on engine and engine ECU too...
my shifting point can go up to 7200rpm haha (dont try this at home or on ur ride)

Last time when I drop gears to 2 or 3 in my E30 autobox, after few months of fun, the autobox started slipping like crazy. -.-
Well blessing in disguise, I switched to manual and no regrets since haha.

there is a part in autobox i'm not sure how to spell it correctly "switch" sound like that. this part very problematic in autobox.
