you can retrofit the 6NR module to enable connected drive, but not all the features will be available due to diff engine DMEs. You can have BMW Apps, Plug-In features, among other things.

In Europe they already have the Android version of connected drive, so far no luck here =( I am using a Note 2. So far, you can use the Office bit and bluetooth streaming audio

my new iPod Touch has no video output because of the stupid new lightning dock, they removed the output of analogue videos, now i cant watch my podcasts on my iDrive anymore unless i plug in my iPad !!! Grrrr

Try to connect note2 bluetooth with the Idrive...unfortunately it did not recognized each other...

No other choice but to wait for the iPhone 5 then

why dont u order the adaptor ? You can find it on ebay. thats what i have done for my iphone 5

Try do a software update under settings. It may help.

Bro, i am using Samsung S3, I can use the phone function after synchronised them using bluetooth...the mic and speaker sound clear, no echo. Also can read contact details and dial up using the knob. Not sure if that answer your question..

To add to bro charcoal (I'm using a Note 2) I can also read sms's and have it read out to me. Just havent figured out reading emails though. Maybe it's because I dont use the deafult email app.

Arul, how did you get the SMS's to read out to you? Of course if the car did this for whatsapp, we would all be in trouble.

I just hit the play button on the left menu. Its not automatically read out to me.
I wish we could also view Whatsapp messages on the idrive too - that would be awesome.

The SA mentioned that the customer needs to purchase the "Telematics Platform Accesories" which costs $7K extra in order to use the internet, and other anti theft tracking features... Confusing here.... Does anyone with 328i can clarify this? THX!

Yes I can access internet tethered from iPhone. No need TPA.

Yes, i can confirm that you can access Internet and BMW Live, Google, Facebook, Twitter via bluetooth or USB connection to your smartphone. However, not all smartphones are supported.

Yup, you dont need TPA. TPA is to allow the car to be connected to BMW's server/system at any time and also serve as an anti theft system. It allows the car to be diagnosed at any time, any where if there is a breakdown.

However, for connected drive all you need is an Iphone, and download the BMW App. Its pretty amazing and cool!
