I went to recce Guoman with Danny about 2 weeks back and would like to share some insights which I hope will facilitate your planning.
Basicly, the resort has remained unchanged for the last 5 years since I last went there except for full access and view of the beach now. Some of you might recall there was a controversy years ago when the army tried to build an encampment at the beachfront of Guoman. Well, the resort has "settled" the matter and in place, there's now a nice beachfront pub called Sunset.
From Manji's workshop in Puchong where Danny was getting his car serviced, it took slightly less than 1 hour to arrive at Guoman's reception. I found the accessibility to be excellent for us Klang Valley folks cos the Seremban-PD highway has been extended to km6 of PD. So, from the highway exit, the distance to Guoman is only 2-3 kms.
Besides the Grand Ballroom where we'll be having our Annual Dinner, Guoman has loads of facilities such as a 9-hole Golf Course, a massive pool, indoor and outdoor restaurants, kids' games room and play areas and for our HH brothers, the beachfront pub. The spacious lay-out of the place gives a nice resort feel.
My point is simly this. The place is ideal for families and even as a romantic get-away. For you couples and family people, do bring your partner and family, and spend a nice afternoon there.
The Committee is already planning a host of activities for everyone. We will likely call on members to help out since if we can all meet there earlier, say in time for lunch, this is no longer just an Annual Dinner but more like a Family / Beach Day cum Annual Dinner cum HH cum (whatever happens in the privacy of your rooms).
Just to wet your appetite even more, the activities that have been contemplated include Go-Kart and Golf competitions, Water Games (in the pool ah, the beach and sea water kenot la, really, it's an environmental disaster!), Tele-matches, ping pong / tennis etc etc.
