<blockquote data-quote="Bimshop Singapore" data-source="post: 711945" data-attributes="member: 32145"><p><u><strong>04 Apr 2014</strong></u></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">Last nite trouble-shooting for customer's E90lci (halogen headlight AE) Part 2</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">Elaborating further, we have posted this pic to let you all understand what is the fault.lastly,</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">Most of you would be wondering, "aint it all AE LED? why can't a e90 pre-fl fit a E90lci?"</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">1) as the headlights are already different in design, the positioning and depth of the optics would also differ. by using a AE LED markers that is not meant for the model</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">a) the positioning would be wrong, light</span><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'"> is not getting correctly or directly into the optics</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">b)there would be light loss, ie not maximising the amount of light that could go into the AE rings</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">c) the optics could be damaged, scratched by forcibly putting an ill fitting ae led markers which would be rubbing against it</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">2) with different models, the wattage, amperes, etc would be unique and different.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">By using a wrong AE LED marker,</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">a) the car would be getting error messages</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">b ) ae lights working intermittently</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">c) premature spoilage of AE LED markers</span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">d) possible electrical shorting</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">3) lastly, by trying to retrofit with different metal plates and cable ties as holders etc, the installer runs a risk of damaging the screw threads where the original screws are supposed to be. upon damage, we might not be able to use that anymore, ie you can't screw anything in to secure the AE even if you had change to a new one.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">in short, get an installer who knows what he is doing. if you see them doing funny stuff like the above-mentioned, its best to avoid using them so as to prevent any irreversible damage to your headlights.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'">Cheers and have a nice weekend guys</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Verdana'"><a href="http://s432.photobucket.com/user/bimshop/media/Facebook/apr2014/04apr2014_aeprob02_zpsdeafc386.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i432.photobucket.com/albums/qq42/bimshop/Facebook/apr2014/04apr2014_aeprob02_zpsdeafc386.jpg" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" /></a></span></p></blockquote><p></p>
