My E30 car, has a high tech alarms, if it detects a hard knock, the alarm will warn. On top I purchased a StopLock for the steering to show visiually that it is going to be a tough job stealing this car.Despite all this, some hooligan today removed the door trimmings , the metalic protector on top of the door trimming. It is tough steel guard agains rain.Today at PJ, in Taman Mayang area some one has removed it in broad day light. :cry: :cry: :cry: Now my car door looks ugly, I dont know if some one tried to break in to my car or was in need of the steel door trimming which is fixed to the roof. I thought robbers took interest only in brand new Harriers, Damn .. even 20 year old cars are not spared. If criminals are going this low, next 80 year old grandma's also going to get raped.Any idea where I cab buy a replacement part ..TQ

You can find the rain gutter chrome trims at Kueen Seng, Puchong. I paid about RM70 for a piece when mine flew off on the highway at high speed ....
I personally don't think it was a petty thief who stole those items to sell for cash etc. It's likely a fellow Beemer driver who was too cheap to buy replacements for his own car.
My BBS air valve caps were also stolen when my car was parked in my apartment compound, where the security is pretty decent.
My only words to these scumbag thieves - if you can't afford to buy Beemer parts, don't drive a Beemer .... :angry:

Well, my car was smashed on the driver side window just to get the Smart TAG... my notebook and handphone in the car and also the coins are not taken. How stupid.
Anyway, better park in a safer place like more ppl around or near to the security.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Haffeel, and many thanks for the heads-up. I drive an e30 and park in Taman Mayang occassionally. Same security measures as you, an alarm and a stoplok. This is a very useful reminder for me to be as careful as I can.
2cents - Yes, I was told it cost about RM 290 to replace that piece of metal. Waao .. Now I am driving around without that piece.. feel naked :blush:
