Have tried Conti Sport Contact 2, Pirelli Dragon, and Yokohama.
With due respect, etc, etc, Pirelli Dragon is crap, and I would not use it again.
It's nice and cheap, and feels good for about 1-3 months.
After about 50%, it goes to pot rapidly. The noise alone will drive u up the wall. If it hits a bump at speed, it deforms and starts a percussion drumming band, rocking your car w a pulsating beat, only recovering its composure when you slow down at the toll. You'd swear your rims were bent. They are not. It's the tires. And the grip goes away after a few months use.
Conti Sport Contact2 is excellent, esp in dry, but can be dangerous in wet, as the tread goes. Also, CSC2 is pricey. But the grip in the dry is nice and very progressive, giving you plenty of warning as it gradually exceeds its limit of adhesion. As the tread wears out, it seems to grip better! In the dry, of course.
Am currently on Yokohama Advan Neova AD07. Price is slightly higher than Dragon, and much, much better by far. Nice and grippy, and performs nicely in the wet, better even than CSC2. A tad noisier as it wears on, and when sliding, not as progressive as CSC2. However, at less than RM600, its a real bargain, dollar/performance.
