Hi,

Speedbuster's tuning takes into account of the tolerance of the hardware, in this case it does not go way overboard and the permissible torque ratings of the transmission especially. For the 520i, with the SB tuning box, the engine will produce 220hp (from 184hp) and 360NM (270NM). It will be close to the 528 in terms of acceleration since it produces 350NM but for a high speed run the 528 will have a slight edge.

A no obligation free trial is available if you are interested.

0 to 100km/h acceleration is solely depends on torque or bigger horse power will help as well?

Acceleration is mainly depending on torque, but once a certain speed is reached thats when horsepower comes into play as well. And horsepower will determine the top speed of the car. So in between it is a combination of both. Diesel cars have higher torque but relatively lower hp (due to the low red line, usually below 5000rpm), and hence it has good acceleration but the top speed is generally lower than a petrol car of similar cubic capacity (320d = 235km/hr, 328 = 250km/hr)

For the F30, the 320i is probably detuned as it is capable of pushing a lot more hp from a 2.0 turbo engine. It is probably done so by BMW to have a clear product differentiation, otherwise no one will be keen on the 328:)

The top speed between the 320d and 320i is similar (235km/hr as quoted in BMW site) as both the cars are producing similar horsepower (184hp versus 181hp).

Anything for the M57 engine bro?

So after plug in the SB tuning box, when I want to send in BMW for service, I just need to unplug it by myself? after service I just need to plug it back by myself right? this cannot be trace by BMW right?

thanks for your explaination.

but one thing which made me blurr is for 320i 184hp/270nm 0-100km/h is 7.5s whereas for 320d 184hp/380nm 0-100km/h is 7.6s, which is 0.1 sec slower than the petrol version, why?? both having same hp, but Diesel has much bigger torque.

Yes, it is that simple.

And the original ECU map is untouched as the tuning box intercepts the signals from the sensor and modified the values before it is send to the ECU.

It has to do with the horse power and torque curve. The 320d runs out of breath at about 3500-4000 rpm, while the petrol engine is still going strong at that range up to 5500rpm. If you look at the graph/chart, the total area below the curve would be reflect this (bigger area).

So anyone actually installed this Speed Buster box in their ride yet?

I'm also considering it and other similar tuning boxes like RaceChip Pro. Looking for some user feedback.

Tried the Racechip but non-Pro. Power increase is noticeable but increase in engine vibrations also noticeable. Maybe the Pro version is better.

Thanks for the feedback. As far as I know the Pro version just gives more boost... perhaps the vibrations might be even stronger then?

The makers also claim improvement in fuel consumption, did you experience that?
