That was where I gotta thank Mizhan bro for the 'ice breaker'... Thanks to him I finally plucked the courage to give Optimum a go, and I've no regrets with their workmanship ever since. :top:

Mizhan? ermm... taiko here? I never saw him reply my thread... hhaha

don't think so..mine taking so long because i went from old engine to V8 auto and then to V8 Manual..mostly sitting idle waiting for gearbox to arrived.
Optimum did very good job completing my conversion and taking care of my car during that period

Bro AE75, is that tujuh-puluh tujuh-puluh yang serba uzur itu the car you just bought and towed to Optimum?

Bro do you plan to fully restore your ride? IIHO, it's going to cost a bomb! Do keep us posted if you intend to do so. You can consult some of our members who also own E32.

Optimum told me it's quite difficult to source used parts for this model, new parts are very expensive.

Yeah... i will restore it slowly, but maybe few year project.
if any taiko can give me a hand, i don't think it would be big problem. Plus~ i do have friend in UK also can help source part for me too. The engine i not scare much as M30 is very very reliable engine. I do owned E34 with M30 engine before, and just because the road tax was overkill me. I sold off few year ago, now getting it back.

I had my first encounter with Optimum today.

Yesterday I went to Auto Future and bought a set of Bilstein B8. Didn't know where to install and I ask Auto Future if they know of anybody who is familiar with B8 and can install them on my E34. He said that Optimum is their "panel" workshop and refer me to Ah Foo of Optimum.

So I gave Foo a call today and explain to them who referred me there. The reply I got from Foo was "We don't install absorbers which was bought elsewhere."

I was confused and didn't bother to call Auto Future back. So I went to a mech who specialized in Bimmer on Jln Ipoh who was glad enough to install them for me. I love their attitute.

May be Foo was protecting himself. I am more disappointed with the B8 salesman.

Generally most specialist workshops do not allow customer to bring their own parts. Reasons being: (1) parts brought by customer may be defective/non-ori etc etc which may cause other components/sub-assembly to fail after installation, (2) when this happened, customer may blame the workshop and ask for reimbursement and/or compensation for damage, (3) supplying parts is a revenue income for the workshop (15% to 20% mark-up).

Jason Foo has already kena a few rounds from "bad customers". Lesson learned.

Only two people i completely trust with my cars. Miepower, and Jason Foo.

For me, I am 100% satisfied with Optimum. Maybe more. LOL.

I had my engine and gearbox changed there last August, very happy with their work.

Speaking about Optimum, if you have their Invoice dated on or before 21Dec2011, and plan to fax something to them, the fax number is wrong, an old Chinese nenek will pick up.

The correct fax number is 03-77251379, not 1397.

Went there this afternoon, bumped into Ti-Tan, Mizhan and Fariz. Was there to remedy the wiring on my front foglamps and also got the alignment of the right main beam fixed.

Worker was really nice and took his time to rectify it. When done I asked him how much, he said not sure cos small job only.

But heck, for someone like me who's not a keen DIYer, I was really glad and happy to have him sort out the wirings and what-nots on the car.

He came back after checking with Jason and said there's no charge.

But felt reluctant to drive away without acknowledging his contribution so I whipped out RM10 and handed it to him. He refused at first but I insisted he took the money for his efforts.

The boys there are just normal human beings. If they are familiar with your kind and appreciative nature, they will reciprocate..
