Hey guys... I searched the forum but i think no one has had this problem i am facing now. Iit all started like this: 1. When for a car wash yesterday evening. Because it was extra dirty, asked the guy to spray lebih. Then left the car wash and started to get ticking sound from the glove compartment. 2. Reset the alarm. Drive back and the ticking sound comes back. 3. Today morning, unlocked my car. The alarm lights were not green and not red, was a little orangey. So reset the alarm again and tried to lock and unlock. Then the car could not lock. 4. So check all the door then found out that the drivers door needed to be slammed a little harder. Tried to lock and unlock, it works. 5. Reached office, tried to lock the car with alarm and same problem. Beeping sound like one of the doors not closed. Slammed the drivers door again and can lock. 6. The ticking sound still exist while driving in the morning as well. What could be the issue? Anyway, I am driving a e36 328 1997 model. Thanks for the help guys... Cheers...

could be some minor short circuit from the water.. or contact point problem...
better check the alarm unit.

latest update...

Drove back from lunch. Tried to lock the car with remote and the alarm was triggered. Reset the alarm and then fine once and the 2nd time. 3rd time cannot lock and shows an error like a door is not closed. reset again, then it locks but then within a minute the alarm start blowing...

had to switch off the alarm now... gees...

could it be the battery? but i did a voltage test 3 weeks ago and 2 weeks ago checked the water.

mmm should i take it to the workshop or alarm centre in TTDI?

1. when to Edward - Cobra in TTDI. He said nothing wrong with the alarm. Then gave some prices if the motion sensor (RM140 per pair) or the switch (RM 74.50) koyak.
2. Still with the ticking sound when to Jason. Test drove then checked again.
3. Cause was taa daa... did not close/lock the boot. hahaha izza...

Moral of the story, check the basics first...

my ticking sound was cause by the sensor locking the central lock after a certain distances. Because the boot was not locked, the unit was trying to lock the central lock again and again. As for your friend, check the outgoing sensors at the doors, boot and bonnet. If it still persist, bring your friend's car to this ex-Cobra guy in Uptown, James Wong of CSE Mobile Services.

Cheers...

mmmm......at least u know where cobra is!!! hehehe

hahaha true is true... Edward was a nice guy to chat with... Guys another info... Drive up to Genting, between 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. if your remote alarm do not work, its nothin wrong with the alarm. It is because the signal transmission error...

So many cars came in to Cobra today because of the same issues...

Genting??? no more money to gamble, Alarm went off asking to go back!!
