Awesome work bro!

Even better would be to clay the rims, you'd be surprised how 'clean' and shiny those rims will look once you do so... :top:

PS: I also tend to use an old toothbrush to access those hard to reach areas of the rims... Work wonders la... :top:

thanks eggie: will use the clay once i get more time during the weekends ,think i can spare some old toothbrush as well , good tip there.
etquah: try looking for kc in this forum and pm him,his good with his words and the onr products as well , nice gentleman to deal with. onr user for a year now , and i am very satisfied.

Thanks buddy for your kind words

Its just simply amazing...how effortless & easy to care for the most tedious / filthiness area....of our wheels, this is the most important place to begin for any car wash...(kindly allow your wheel to cool down prior washing, as at some extreme brake our rotor may get heated till 300 degrees or so) not i wait you wash the kind of thing

most of the wheel damages is done the wrong way of washing ...with aggressive cleaner with chemicals like degreaser as such found in wheels cleaners
impose danger to both our skin & inhalations....

allow me to share with you

Thanks for the tip KC. Means not recommended to use a toothbrush to access those small areas on our wheels?

yupp

less is more

as all our wheel are mostly clear coated...unless you want to scrap away your coating......unless you have stainless steels wheels

Thanks KC. Then, does the same theory apply to those wheel brushes that are sold off the shelves ah? I mean those branded ones sold by reputable brands...

bro

:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

but i would suggest a least aggressive way...... such as microfibers & with some help of sticks..thru yr BBS rims....
now the main questions is !! - are we cleaning once every few months, a year or a life time? cos brake dust does get caked up after prolong accumulations over heat,

ma ma says "a little everyday will keep the shines all the way...."

Hahaha, no la KC bro.

Just curious. :p Been using tootbrush [not that hard bristle] on the rims lately. Just scrub those deep inside to remove the brake dust and grime...

try to wrap around yr brushes with MF...if space permits you..ma ma mia

Hi bro
i forgot to ask you the million question
How long did you take to detail the rims

Well, time doesn't really permit la so I often start with washing the rims with sunlight, make it as bubbly as possible. Feel sayang to use ONR on the rims cos my supply almost finishing. :p

So use a sponge to attack the surface of the rims [facing outwards], then will then proceed to using the toothbrush to clean up those areas between the spokes KC. The inner spokes of the rims I'm not too worried about, like you said, the coating might be worn off by the use of excessive/aggressive chemicals or brushing.

All in all, the front pair of wheels are the dirtiest, so might usually take about 5-10 mins per front wheel. This is just my normal ritual of washing the rims, not really detailing it. Hehe. Tend to clay the rims probably once every 6 months. :)

hi kc, it took me 20 minutes for all 4 rims, just spray the diluted onr and wash with mf , will try claying and detailing it next time,i've stopped using brushes for almost 2 yrs now.

Bro, just wondering. How do you access those areas between the spokes then? Use fingers covered with the mf, and rub? :)

eggie: you just took the words right out of my mouth , exactly::)). just swivel in the fingers wrapped in mf in between the spokes , have to be patient though.i couldnt fine anything else more flexible or cosmetically safe enough to do the job.

Hahaha. Awesome man. Used to do that for a short while, then got lazy, and reverted back to using toothbrushes again. :p

Will probably revert to using mf's again... Feel sayang to use the mf for rims due to their tendency to get tarnished so quickly. :D

Hi guys, i gather mf means microfiber cloth...but what is ONR and what is "clay the rims"?

Hi Calaris,

Please refer to a thread I had started earlier to document down my efforts in claying the rims.

ONR Stands for Optimum No Rinse, a highly formulated product which reduces the need for water wastage, as only a bucket of water diluted with a cap of ONR will work wonders for washing cars. :)
