Greeting, Just join the Club. Need advice from you all. I had test drive 2009 325i sport 2 days ago in Melaka. Love the power and handling.Due to budget, the sales personnel recommended 323i. He said that less power is the only difference. Is it true? Will find a day to test drive 323i.

hi bro sean, welcome...
from what i know, the 323i uses the same engine as the 325i, but detuned slightly to set the 2 models apart...the reason why this is important is that for a lower price, you still get the joy of a straight 6 BMW engine :top: your SA left something out, 325i sports has M-sport suspension, a sexy bodykit, and a bunch of other stuff...although im sure the aesthetic bits can be specified at extra cost

btw you should intro yourself in the newbie section, its a rite of passage here

Hi All,

I just test drive the E90 323 and also to get this model BTW do you think its better to get this year or jan 2010?
btw there is any promo during Chinese New Year on Feb 2010?

i hv found the 323 to be very good to drive... i hv no regrets, i bought it in March 09. I drive an average of about 4000km per month and I still love every km of it !!! I test drove the 325 sports and I just wasnt happy with the sports suspension for everyday driving.
This is my personal view, I am sure there are many here who might disagree with me

I had test drive the 530 Sport and i don't like the sport suspension and i also prefer comfort and quiet but I like the "M" accessories and body kit, how much to add in if i get the 323 non-sport?

hello! I also picked the 323i over the 325i M-Sports. I think the time spent speeding and hugging corners will be miniscule compared to the hours spent stuck in jam, uneven roads and braving pot holes. My wife also prefers a slightly more comfortable ride.

Should be getting my car next week.

Better to buy this year than next. The current promotion is unbeatable as far as my survey takes me(waaay back to when the LCI's first came up)

Different people different taste...so test drive both and ask buy which one suits you...and of course the sports model never suits traffic jams and potholes..i mean all kind of sports car too..

so its your call coz ur the driver..

Dear Ebby37,
I will definitely test drive 323i after reading your post. Will find time to go to JB and hopefully they have 323i for test drive. Will to call them tomorrow to check.

haha dont worry about it bro sean, not a big problem...btw just for your info, the 323i is very good seller (according to an SA at Ingress Auto) among the 3 series range because of its value for money, something to keep in mind...

I felt great when driving and enjoy the moment. The car is solid and safety. Safety is my priority since i have 2 children. Can't really explain the feeling when sit inside the car.

Many thanks to you all. Hope sooner i will become a BMW owner. Ha..

if safety is a major concern, then smile because the E90 has curtain airbags :top:

Bro, I went through the same ordeal with you and ended up buying the 323i. The 323i has the same engine with the 325i, only detuned version. The power on the 323i is still awesome........end of the day, I saved about RM25-30K. The only big difference is the M Sports package on the 325i........this is just my 2cents.

I share the same thought like you, Stanleycck. Since i am not a fast runner, kind of scare when speeding.

Vish. Yes, the equipped 8 airbags amazed me. I will contact the JB branch and ask if they have 323i for test drive.

Bro, Safety for the family comes first. I constantly commute from KL to Penang...........what a feeling with the 323i!!.......got carried away going 180km for a while..........yikes......kinda scary with the power in this beast. No regrets with the 323i.......on the highway.......good fuel consumption and a safe one.

To enjoy the safety of the airbags, ensure you wear your seatbelts. Active restraint systems are interlocked, so the airbags are deactivated if the seatbelt isn't clicked in. This is for safety, because if your head isn't a minimum distance from the airbag when it deploys, the exploding plastic cover and bag may kill you rather than save you. People have been decapitated by airbags before, especially young children in the front passenger seat, because they're too short for the diagonal strap to hold their upper bodies back.

I mention this because I've heard more than one intelligent person saying that they don't wear their seat belts because their fancy cars have many airbags! :D

 definitely not me.

Before celebrating the large number of airbags that we have to protect our families, read these articles to learn why they can be dangerous to women and children, the very people we want a safer car for.

Bro Schwepps,

Totally agree with you. All these safety features today are very useful but the most important thing is the driver.......drive at desired speed and feel comfortable with it and most important, be on the alert!!

Just my 2 cents.........
