I bought my E90 from AB Glenmarie but I have changed my car service to Ingress nowadays as AB Glenmarie is notoriously bad in terms of their customer service. I have had trouble getting my calls picked up when I called at certain time of the day (e.g. 4:30pm or any time near end of the day); nobody greets you when you are in the showroom. Recently, I sent in my car for repair and I must say that dealing with their workshop people in general is worst than going to a dentist! Anyone has similar experience with the branch? That said, it still has a used red 335i that gives me the upgrade itch!

agreed..bunch of monkeys working there...

one salesman proudly said to me "we are the biggest bmw dealer in msia" and didnt even bother to give me a call back as promised.

Plenty of 335s in MotorTrader.. almost every import car dealer has a unit in their showroom..

not just Aaa Bee Gelenmaarie....sungai metal & segamboot also sucks big time...

True ... I was looking at the MotorTrader but not sure which one is the reputable ones. At least I think AB gives some some warranty (6 mths - 1 year) on the car? May be someone in this forum has experience dealing with other good dealers besides Naza?

Ooo... Naza, they just brought in the Lexus ISF and the supercharged TRD Camry Aurion..

HAHA! notice those car ads in the classified section of the newspaper proudly proclaiming "AUTO BAVARIA FULL SERVICE HISTORY"?? as if that is a selling point! i've advised countless others that that proclamation is actually a negative point! my car has come out worst after sending it in to AB than before it was sent in! more than once! those who care for their cars meticulously and who know a thing or two about car maintenance quality would never send their cars back to AB after the warranty period is over!

Why did you keep sending it back to AB if the service was bad? Did u try another dealer?

Cheers

its going to getting more n more bmw malaysia dealers outside, just saw some sighboard at pj hilton there, its another new dealer coming out soon, this happen will help our bimmer owners getting better service in the future due to their competition, hope that's right

Same situation happening to me...sent the car in for rattling noise fixing..the CSO never update the status and I had to call him to know when the car should be ready..
Lewint,
Mind to share with us your experience..what kind of worst condition did you face?

oh gawd. i ask myself that question every time i so happen to stumble back upon old invoices. it happens to the best of us mate.

well first and foremost, the car was still under warranty. secondly, the subsequent visits (there were 3 consecutive in one case) were to rectify their cock ups (excuse my hokkien) from the first and second visit. this tri-visit experience was due to a faulty fuel injection valve or something to the effect (sorry my memory fails me). this episode was the last straw. i went to a 3rd party workshop after that. my car was fine (besides the usual age old issues) for the next 4 years.

ps. ingress did not yet exist (more like i didn't know of its existence) when my car was still under warranty.

cheers.

hi LeMans755, in addition to my reply to ALBundy's post, i can tell you of one other instance where i made an appointment to get a faulty light bulb swapped out. appointment was for 9am. i was made to wait till 12 noon before someone attended to my simple request (which was a paid request). as u can imagine, i was not happy (to put it mildly). i still hold resentment till this day. so bottom line, don't bother making an appointment. you ain't important enough. unless you are a VIP or you own a 7 series and your driver can wait there the whole day everyday for AB to attend to you whenever they feel like it.

ps. if you are going to ask me why didn't i just leave after the first hour or two, don't. my reply will be obvious (along the lines of "investment").

I cannot but feel for you guys as I hv gone thru what you guys are experiencing ...:banghead: it seems to be happening to almost all of the outlet ....lately we can never find a relaible BMW outlet to meet to our service requirement .... its really2 sad having to pay a bundle and get such stinky service

AB Glenmarie definitely gets my vote for the absolute worse after sales service. Its definitely like a zoo there, and everyone there is overworked, resulting is poor service and turnaround time.

My story is that my car was 2 weeks old and I sent it back for some defect/warranty claims. The mechanic who drove my car from the service area parking lot reversed into a big concrete flower pot damaging my rear bumper right in front of my eyes. He said he would "polish the scar up" and it'll be good as new. When I collected the car nothing was visibly done and the damage was there, but I certainly didn't want to drop my car off there anymore for further repairs. Good thing this was before I bought the M sport bodykit

Poor service comes from poor management. They've forgotten who pays their salaries. Vote with your feet: there are many other dealers now, kudos to BMWM for that. :top: BTW, AB is a major shareholder of BMWM.

hi E46Fanatic, you are a forgiving person indeed. you are a much better man than i am. i would have smashed the mechanic's head into the big concrete flower pot if he reversed my car (which i loved to bits) into anything.

btw, i like your post on the E90 325i vs w204 c230. you were spot on about the C230. very nice car to drive but just not quite as good as the 325i in terms of having the "complete" package.

A BMW is still the "complete" package. the feel is just "right". nothing quite feels like it. i cannot explain but all BMW drivers will know what i mean. :)

When I posted this thread, I suspected I am not the only one having really bad experience with AB (Glenmarie). What I will do after I got my car back, I will write a big complaint to BMW detailing my unpleasant experience dealing with them(e.g. not returning calls/email/sms, no follow ups, not updating or communicating status of repair, delay after dealy, etc.)

Granted, some of the staff there may be over worked/under resourced but this is also a management issue that needs to be addressed and should not be an excuse for bad service.

So no matter where you service your BMW, BMWM makes and indirectly, AB's shareholder as well.. why should they care? :D

so we shud adopt a new tag line...when buying stops so does AB....:top:

for me after buying 2 bmws from them and having to deal with their sales and after-sales it is conclusive for me to stop buying BMW...forget about Ingress and Sapura as most of the employee also from AB...at one point when they are overloaded it will be the same issues all over again...
