Was driving my 320d when approaching the traffic lights, came to s slow halt when the engine abruptly stop. Restarted without a problem. Anyone out there had similar experience?? Yet to go in for the 12k service. Car only done 10k.

Never had this problem before. Any warning lights on the dashboard?

Never had problems on mine either, I'm around 10k km and most of the mileage is in city stop/go traffic.

sorry to hear that..hopefully nothing serious. I am sure u plan to send it to AB for inspection and u better do it :). mine is 12k and had it serviced last week..so far never had that experience..keep us updated once send for inspection.

No warning lights, Called the BMW service just to check but they said it may be a dirty spark plug until I said diesel engines have no spark plugs... Will keep you inform. :100:

Stanley from Auto Bavaria Segambut says the 320d has spark plugs but only used for the early morning start.

DKNY engine stalled when the engine already running. The glow plug is used for COLD starting and it seldom used when the engine is HOT.

Agreed engine stall while coming to a stop. One only uses the glow plug or heater to warm up the engine prior to starting the engine.

Anyway diagnostic was carried out and no fault was discovered. They informed me that they just reprogram the ECU. Went overseas afterthat. Today is the 1st day after the reprogramming.

Ah yes the engine light blink yellow momentarily a day prior to sending it for scheduled diagnostic test. According to the manual only 50% power available.

Nothing showed up nor did the car drop power but then again it was in a traffic jam.

Still figuring it out :106::106::106:

is it a manual or auto?
if manual , were you changing gear
if auto, were you in steptron, or regular auto..

also any other condition/surroundings info, were you on a hill, was it raining ect.

please let me know :)

Just a thought, did it happen after a new tank of diesel at a particular diesel station? Can diesel impurity cause this?
