2012 3 Series?

Definitely true. The E90 is a 2005 launch and it'll be due by 2012. But by the time it gets to our shores, it'll be 2013, so go get your E90 now and enjoy 3 years of it being the current model. The E90 will be the last of the BMW engines we're familiar with, so experience them while you can. The nexgen will be greener, smaller and turbo-charged to compensate.

Oh, ok, get the current e90 and upgrade the latest model facelift in 2015 :top:

Then might as well wait for that new version to be face-lifted in 2015 or even better the newer 3 series in 2018....:listen:

A more probable timeline is: global launch 2012, Malaysia launch 2013, facelift 2017, nexgen 2020. The time to get the next model will be 2014, as you would do best to avoid the first year production's bugs. So actually you have 4 years to enjoy the E90 LCI if you get it now. Just the right timespan, no? Start shopping!

Before everything, there's 2012... u have been warned! The wait may cost you dearly and 2013 may never come.. :p :D :D

That's funny! by then we will see new spy pics of the next gen 3 series and we wait some more hahaha.
If that is really the look of the new 3 series in 2012, it is awesome looking. Better start saving.

Yes, but before 20.12.2012, there's 19.11.2009! The day Astroboy. The Movie hits GSC screens nationwide! Get to see your fav keyboard warrior in action for only RM8. "Built for Adventure"

I've seen a sneek preview and it's awesome to see him do an oil change in 1.25 seconds! :top:

There is no right time to get a car. If you hv the means n you like the car very much - JUST GET IT.

let said, there is a new model coming out priced at 230k for 320i n current model E90 also priced at 230k for 320i, which one would u choose? i believed only moron will go for the previous model, right? this is human's nature, new is always better. unless it's sour grapes...

sori no offence

Better to go for the current model and then the new model 1-2 years after it comes out. That is preferable to not enjoying the current model, and then buying the new model as soon as it comes out, and gritting your teeth as the bugs appear one by one.

This will not happen. Even if it happens, I am very sure the F30 replacement model will be bare model while the E90 will be loaded with add-on in order for them to be sold at the same price. Just like in 2005 where the E90 came out while they're still selling the E46. What was the price difference then? The E46 was CKD and was selling at about RM220k loaded with goodies while the E90 was CBU and were selling at RM260k, no Xenon, no electric seat, smaller wheels, no rain sensor, just to name a few.. not to mention the many problems found in the earlier batch of the new model which takes time to resolve and make later batches a more reliable unit.

It normally takes 1 to 2 years to get the replacement model CKD here in order to qualify for lower duties, and in the meantime your existing car would continue to depreciate, despite at a slower rate than a new car.. so u do the maths and find your entry point. I am sure this entry point varies from one individual to another..

.. and Schwepps, thanks for the lunch..
