Bro Bm33mer, no worries. Your comments are justified. I said that I for one have no issue with such conversions. Who knows one day I may end up this route too. But what I did say is to respect Members who have requested the discussion to be taken offline. They have a valid point too.

As for membership, that decision resides with the Committee. I personally don't see a reason why it should be rejected on such grounds. We have members who run jap engines in their rides. What you don't see them do is publicise it largely due to respect or maybe even to hide their beast onli to be unleashed when required.

So point noted and clarified, I trust. Peace, after all it is Valentines Day.

Yeah, V Day bro...

Me Love You Long Time... :4:

Long time never see your E38 in the flesh larrr...

Anyways, absolutely agree with Serjit's viewpoint here. What's there to stop members from owning a Bimmer, whether Jap heart or not? Respect is earned irrespective of what car you drive, and yes, since this is a BMW forum, it's a very great platform to discuss about all things related to the roundel.

Well, would I still be here had I not owned the E32? Well, hell yes I would still be! After all, this is THE place to be, to share and exchange views, TCSS, enjoy reading up on impressive threads like Badrul's & Serjit's E38 odyssey, Mizhan's E34 and E30 projects, and what-nots...

So by reading Mizhan's and ssman post is it fair to say that if 325tt wants to become an official member he is not welcomed and his application would automatically be rejected? Are we to ridicule and persecute people because they can't afford to force induct a BMW engine? We have to remember that the cost of FI on a BMW engine can be astronomically high it is out of reach of most BMW's enthuthiast therefore the alternative solution would be a Japanese turbo engine which would be more affordable. Would that make him a lesser bmw enthuthiast than any of us?

I think it's harsh and unfair. Just because the engine is not a BMW doesn't mean it's any lesser of a BMW. It's still has the same bavarian steel, chassis, interior and etc ... When is a BMW is NOT a BMW??? Would putting a non-german brand rims on a BMW can be considered as blasphemous too?

The engine doesn't make the car rather it's the overall package, the design of the car, handling performance, the build quality and other factors that draws people to BMW not just the engine. Tho i may not be an OM (not yet anyways) but i love this forum because it give's other BMW owners avenues to discuss and exchange ideas and as such i just need to speak out.

I'm sorry if i have offended anyone but i just need to let it out of my chest ...

i see you're a fellow enthusiast, and by that i have the utmost respect for you. however if you read my earlier post, this forum isn't a free-for-all site. this is BMW Club Malaysia, with paying members, and direct affliliation with the automobile manufacturer. please remain in that perspective.

i echo my bro herbert's observation on you having been a long time Club Guest. perhaps with your stong views, it is time for you to be one of us, and make your Official stand on this matter.

B33mEr,

Well you can certainly interprete Mizhan's and Ssman posts NOT WELCOMING 325tt if he were to apply for official membership. I will be the first one to object with our Managing Committee. It will not only be applicable to 325tt's but to include the rest of would be Jap turbo engine into a BMW chasis applications. Why bother and come into our house and try to contaminate. They may as well start another blog/site on their own.

BTW, notice you are a Clug guest since 2008 with 1,936 posts. Wonder what's holding back your application for OM??

Nothing is holding me back i just feel it's not the time yet for me to join as OM and i do appreciate that BMWCM has provided an avenue for BMW enthuthiast to come and congregate. Hence there will be all sorts of people with different ideas and principal i just feel that we shouldn't persecute people just because they can't afford to do it the ideal way. As for me i do try to contribute by sharing what little knowledge i have to BMWCM forum and yes i will be an OM member hopefully soon if not later.

I too have the utmost respect and utmost admiration to your passion when it comes to BMW ... Your many threads especially the "Once in a lifetime" thread has been a real eye opener and makes an excellent read on what it takes to properly restore a BMW legend such as the E30. I guess the true intentions of the forum have been lost to me as i am unaware there were regulations prohibiting such forum members from making a thread in regard to engine transplant that is not a BMW in origin. Anyhow it is just my personal opinion on the matter that's all.

I will be joining as OM but not just yet ... The only time i have is only via online ... i haven't been to tt in a long time hehehe

keep up your great technical sharing and contribution to the forum which actually puts more value to a forum than empty talks and chit chats...

everyone has their own preference and ideas to things like you said and like me i feel the same like them on ppl who install other marques engine on a BMW when ppl renaming their cars to the M cars....hahahahaha for me its the same offense to the BMW community...
