    Hi all sifus
Need advice on some issue on the facelifted e46
My left side top brake light is not working instead the when brake is applied
    the bottom ones lights up.
also the fog on the same side is also not lighting up.
the rest of the light signal, reverse and headlight on is ok.

Used to have the earth melting connector issue.
Solved it with additional cable on one side and bypassing the socket in the other side.

License plate light and 3rd brake light is working normal.and so is the boot button is also good.

I have tried switching bulb and also checking the body to boot wiring loom but all is good. But i havent open up the whole loom to check.just near the connecting part.

anyone knows where is the fault for the brake and fog error?
Search in this forum and others and google as well cant seem to have a solution

Had a brake light problem with my e39. The 2 pins connectors inside the brake light socket were corroded and replaced it with a used one from shop chop. Think your rear fog also similar connector problem.

BTW, please DO NOT switched on your rear fog light when driving as it is very very irritating for cars that are behind you.

    Cheers

    Thanks Herbert.
Check the connector as well but all are ok.

Dont use the fog much.except reversing in the house just to light up the back to see a bit better whats behind.

Anyone else having the same issue?

sent to a auto electrician to check. your problem is definetly a negative or ground connection. (loose connector or broken wire or bad connection)
