For a BMW to have such a low top speed, there is no question here and send your car to any good and reliable + reasonable workshop you know.

    well bro,
    there's many possible causes..

if your engine is lack of power, it could be:

    1. incorrect ignition timing..
    2. faulty spark plug..
    3. fuel injection or carburettor malfunctioning (what bimmer are you use?)
    4. brakes binding.. (well, it's make sense)
    5. clutch slipping.. (are you using manual or auto?)
    6. etcetera..

    if you're using manual transmission,
and the car can't go faster than 110km/h,
and the fuel consumption is high..
i guess, more to clutch slipping problem..

    send your car to workshop..

If yours is auto, are you aware of the existance of the so called "kickdown switch/button" located under the throttle pedal? For quite sometime when I newly bought the car, I was driving around with top speed around 110km/h also...until I figured this thing out on my own by accident. Just to share my experience if it helps...

the kickdown switch is just like dropping gear right? It shouldnt affect top speed, or am I wrong?

    kickdown switch button..?
    hmmn..

    hoh..?
    no, no, no..
    do not press that button..
it will detonate explosives that release the roof of your car..
then, eject you out from your car seat..
    ha ha ha.. :D

    yup..
kickdown switch is kinda to downshifting gear..

    His normal reply, dude

    Nothing personal:cool:

Theres meaning (as always) in his reply

And as i have mentioned, get the car to the mechanic, no way theres any switches or any buttons that can hold your car to 110KMH top speed only.

hi all....thanks for all the output, here are what i have done...

    1. changed the spark plug (free) sponsored by my wireman
    2. clean the distributor cap...changed the distributor vacuum pipe, found leakage(rm28)
    3. changed my exzos (rm320)

later this evening I'll go check my manifold gasket cos been hearing leaking sound.

a bit difference in performance...and i suspect my clutch is slipping too....anybody knows how much it'll cost me to overhaul? is it somewhere around 3K?

    Thanks!
