Greetings to all, just like to know if anyway can advice me on a battery for my 325i 2012, I see there is an indication keep saying battery low. I would imagine i need to replace it. Should i get Original or OEM and whats the Pro's and con's of this, lastly how much should it cost and where? I'm based in KL regards adam
if you want to DIY, you can replace the battery. I did that by following the following instruction. https://youtu.be/mrdChMT1wGw I replaced it with Bosch S5 DIN80 (Non AGM). Ensure you get the same type and size. I paid RM470 1.5 years ago. There are two types of batteries for BMW. AGM (black colour) and Normal MF (white colour). AGM is more pricey. You change interchange them as changing is different for them.
I changed mine to Yuasa at Jalan Ipoh. But it only last about 2 years or so at about RM400 per batt also. Funny cause my original lasted about 5 years.
Original BMW battery is more than double the price of Yuasa and of course, the specifications and material used are obviously different.
HI, Original battery cost around rm1800. changed mine 1 year back( 325i e90) .got it directly from fm autohaus bmw.kota kinabalu.have asked around on durability it should last at least 4-5 years.get the ori cause it will spare ur maintenance on other electrical items in ur ride on a long term.Hope this helps.cheers!
Hi Adam, Mine is F30 (2014). My battery life is already 5 years. May i know whether this car will give an indication of the weakened battery? Where and how it’s indicate?
when you start your car in the morning, if there is even the slightest hesitation in the starting process, this means your car battery getting weak. Alternatively, you can always ask your usual SC or Mechanic to check the battery health.
Need to your advice: I have to leave an F45 in Kedah due to recent TEMCO; avoiding to return to Kedah. It will be there for 12 days. What will happen to the battery? If dead, will it need to be totally replaced?
Should not be an issue to leave it for 2 weeks. Yes if its happens to be dead after that period, call BMW Service (assuming you are still under BSRI) so they can assist. If totally dead, yeah need to replaced. Or ur local battery shop may be able to recharge it (but takes a long time).
